Hilo: Out-Of-This-World Boxed Set

My son (8) loves these books.He's reread the entire box set more times then I can count.We will be buying him more in this series.

My 6 year old loves these Hilo books. He had book 4 already and read it over and over and over and over. Finally got him this book 1-3 set and he was so happy to open it. He sat down in the middle of the room to immediately dive in and didnt move (except for page turning) for a solid hour or so (however long it took him to read all 3 back to back). Then he took them to his room to read them again and bookmark his favorite pages.Id say the story is a little advanced for a 6 year old (I havent read every page of every book, but nothing seems inappropriate, and I like that both boys and girls are positive main characters). The artwork and action are great and keep his interest soooo well. He has no trouble reading them on his own and he loves them.

Big action, goofy sense of humor. Manages to be both in-pocket for parents content-wise, and wildly out-of-pocket for a kids' comic in terms of sheer visual spectacle and the scope of the storytelling. Big win as far as we're concerned.
