Works pretty good
This is second one of this brand I've bot. Not quite the same, or as good as the 1st, as the butane gas doesn't come out when holding it vertically, pointing down, and it will go out. Also, the heat tool is already (after 2 months of occassional use) not functioning as it should -- only glowing about 1/2 of its initial state (not as hot).

I should have got one of these a long time ago
I should have got one of these a long time ago... I was recently doing some harness work on my motorcycle away from home and a friend loaned me this tool. I ordered one that night. It solders and shrinks and seconds after you can snap on the cover and put it in your pocket smoking hot. I read other reviews regarding reliability and although I only used mine twice, my friends lasted for years without service in a commercial manner. t was so used that I had a hard time identifying the model as the part marking was rubbed off. When I got my 120K I quickly compared and its the exact same tool. One key to success and avoiding some of the bad review issues is getting PREMIUM fuel... definitely a difference. My budd uses Vector Premium 14X

Great Value
Purchased for field work. Heats great even in high winds and low temps. Side vent is excellent for Shrink tubing. Would buy again.

Design, materials, or labor?
When I bought the Solder It Pro I figured I was going to spend the money to get a quality product that would last for years. I'd used a couple of cheap butane soldering irons from Radio Shack that only lasted around 5 years each. But for the 85 bucks I was going to invest in the Pro-120 I thought I'd be good for decades. Alas, that was not to be. I used this tool without problems maybe a couple of dozen times tops in 30 months and then it stopped lighting. Turns out the pressure valve is broken, stuck on full throttle. Too much fuel coming out to light. I've written to the manufacturer twice with no response. I wouldn't expect them to replace it; I was just looking for some advice. So now I'm back in the hunt for a good butane soldering tool and passing a cautionary tale on to fellow consumers.

solid unit
Same product snap-on, mac, matco sell for much less. Only draw back is it is sometimes difficult to light. Other wise well worth the price

It may work just as well as an adjustable Butane ...
It may work just as well as an adjustable Butane cigarette lighter on the “Solder-It” solder that comes in a hypodermic needle,I’ll test that out sometime in the future.
