Can I machine wash this?

Yes, machine washable in cold water, however, I use my Hoover carpet shampooer on them (I have 2 in my kitchen) since I don't have a huge washing machine.

Description says, "Action backing". What exactly is that?

I have no idea what they mean by "action" I am thinking it's a typo for "traction". These have the nonskid, washable backing you see on so many little rugs like this, and believe me, they do NOT skid! I have them in front of my sink and stove and love them.

What are the actual colors?

It's pretty true to the picture. A few shades aBrown, green, and 1 shade of blue and red. Colors go well together and looks great against my light hardwood floors.

What is the backing like? Can it be put on wood floors? I don't want it sticking so well that when I take the rug up the floor underneath is ruined.

I have had these rugs for several years. Two were on tile floors and two on wooden ones. I never had any trouble with them sticking to either surface. The backing is a typical looking non-slip finish, but I have washed and dried them many times without the backing falling apart.
