Q: what kind of power cord do you need to plug into it?

Q: can someone point me to a car 12v adapter that will work?

I made one from an old cigarette lighter plug and I cut the cable off a 12V power supply from an old laptop. Just make sure you get positive and negative hooked up correctly, AND remember, the monitor is NOT powered from this unit but requires its own power supply.
