Yes, this will fit 8-9 year old. (Note: You can tie the elastic band to a loop or belt to secure the tail. Some of our customers prefer to use a safety pin to attach the tail to the costume.) Q: Is it small enough for a toddler?

The bow tie's elastic band will be big for a toddler, but some of our customers tied a knot at the back of the elastic band to make it a tighter fit. Also please note that the tail's elastic band can be tied to a loop (e.g., tag or belt loop) or attach to a belt. Please feel free to contact us if you have any further questions.
