Royal Navy At War - Fleet Air Arm (An Iwm Collection Release) [DVD]

Fascinating to see such contemporary footage from the Navy/Fleet Air Arm, especially as they were very slow off the mark in embracing photography at all, at the start of the war. My father was in the first intake of aerial (still) photographers in 1940. Other DVD collections of Naval film footage show that a good deal of what survives was taken (mostly unofficially) by officers with their own home cine-cameras.

If you want to see authentic action this DVD is NOT for you. It is a compilation of services training films and is extremely slow and tedious. I was very disappointed and the suppliers should consider revising their description.
