very useful and a great replacement strap
Would probably be 5 stars if not for the price. I ordered this strap to replace a few straps for duffels I have. One is something I bought at TJ Maxx (local discount department store) that has a skinny strap which cuts into my shoulders when the duffel is full. It drove me crazy because it is a very functional bag for travel, not too big, not too small. The strap made it unusable though. The other bag is a very large duffel that I ordered a while ago through Amazon. It is probably from China, not a very elaborate or particularly fancy duffel bag, but it is fairly well-made except for the strap which broke at the plastic buckle where it attaches to the bag. This was very frustrating as this sizable duffel is great for casual trips like camping where you want to throw a bunch of things in a big bag.I have used this new strap for both bags and find it to be very comfortable. It also lengthens quite a bit so the large duffel is not problem for it.While it is a bit more than I wanted to spend, I am very happy with the strap so far and has saved me money in the long run since it has extended the life of two different duffel bags.

Pretty good
I've been using this on my work bag for a couple of years. Here's the good and bad.Bad:- Slips - Every one to two days, I have to re-adjust the strap to make it tighter.Good:- Sturdy - I ride my bike over bumps and this strap holds my heavy bag. The strap has metal connectors so it won't break easily. Plus it's lasted for most of college.- Comfortable - Has a shoulder pad that distributes the weight. Mostly good for not creating indents in clothes while walking.Overall very good, It will get loose over time, but that's only a minor inconvenience.

Solid replacement strap for black shoulder bag
Have had a black leather professional-looking shoulder bag for years (Kenneth Cole Reaction). The undersurface of the shoulder strap was black foam, which finally started to break down and revealed an unsightly white foam - time for a new strap! This is one of the very few replacement straps I've been able to find online or in stores. The Good: durable (nothing on this looks like it will ever break down), black metal clasps have full rotational mobility, good amount of padding, strap undersurface has diagonally-striped friction fabric to help the shoulder pad not slide around. What I'd change if I could: strap itself is made of high-quality nylon, which is OK but just doesn't have that same look feel of leather like the rest of my bag or the old strap.Punchline: not perfect match, but the best replacement I could find, and I'm very pleased with the quality

Reality:It only cost a few bucks
I'm a mail carrier right now. I've been doing the job for just over a year when I found that the provided strap was dis-coloring my shirts due to rain, sweat, etc. Plus, the damned thing kept getting twisted. So, l came to Amazon. This strap seemed to have it all: Cheap price, metal hooks that swivel, non-slip pads with fabric that's supposed to breathe. I clicked a few buttons and it was on its way. Here's the reality: It was only a few bucks. The metal hooks are great. The plastic loops used to lengthen a nd shorten the straps slip, so I had to wrap rubber bands under them to prevent the strap form getting to long. There are some no slip pads, but they barely work. My satchel almost immediately came off my shoulder the first time I loaded it up.But, it was only a few bucks. I'm going to wait til the plastic buckles break to invest a bit more in a new strap with a bit more quality. This strap was fine, but I would not buy this again.

works well with my DSLR camera
Bought this for my rather heavy camera I use for traveling. Usually use a hand strap, but I wanted a comfortable shoulder strap instead for quick access. This worked very well. It is comfortable and durable. It was even comfortable around my neck which I was surprised at. The only minus point is that the pad doesn't move on the strap so changing positions across body was a little challenging, but overall it worked very well and I'm happy with the purchase.

Well made and worth its price
Just want to add my voice to the chorus - this strap is a great deal. Its very well constructed, and the padded area has a slight curve to it that when put over the shoulder, follows the contour of one's shoulder nicely and more naturally. There's more than enough adjustment to the strap to wear it either off one shoulder, or across the chest. I bought it to replace the inferior start that came on the the shoulder bag i use for lugging stuff to and from work. But i liked it so well i also swap it off that bag and put it on my camera shoulder bag when i'm carrying that around.

More than what i expected
I work for the Railroad and carry a "grip" that has everything I need in it. Which is to say a lot. I generally break my strap and then buy a new bag. Unfortunately Carhartt discontinued my favorite bag. When the strap broke I figured I was out of luck. I took a chance on this strap and am *very* surprised at the quality and durability. I do believe it will outlast my original Carhartt strap. The only complaint would be it's a bit shorter than my original. The original was extra long though so the strap could be put over my head comfortably. For straight, same side shouldering this works perfectly.I look forward to getting many more years out of this bag now that I found a durable strap that I can replace if it should become worn out.

Great for duty bags
The shoulder strap adjusts to pretty much any size you need. I particularly love the metal clasps (most clasps are made of plastic & break easily) these metal ones are durable. One down side is the clasps are a little small & you might have to shift them back & forth to get them on the bag. The strap is very durable & thick so it doesn't dig into your shoulder even if you don't use the shoulder pad. The shoulder pad itself is padded, durable & comfortable. I replaced my old duty bag strap with the Skooba & I love it. My duty bag with all my gear in it weighs anywhere from 20-30 LBS.

Great, Reliable and Sturdy!
Loved these straps. Provides a better stronger shoulder support. Bought a few of them. Highly recommend if you are looking for better padding and shoulder support. Easy to install and add onto any laptop bag, crossbag handbag, etc.

Sleek and professional, this Skooba strap is your aching shoulder's new best friend!
This Skooba shoulder strap is wonderful! Sleek and professional looking; it could suit either a woman or a man. I bought my black Skooba Accessory Shoulder Strap 995-400 to use as a shoulder strap for a satchel-style bag. (You have to check if you're hoping to do this -- my short satchel straps are attached to the bag with big rings onto which I can also hook the shoulder strap, but this is not true of all satchels.) The strap works so well! It is very adjustable -- I believe it would work for both short and tall people, but YMMV. For another use, I have a boarding bag (with black detailing.) Its dressy shoulder strap might cut into my shoulder if I have to run a long way through an airport with my 10 pound Mac in the bag -- so I will switch in the Skooba if I see that situation coming up.

Best strap for the money
A decent shoulder strap for a variety of different bags. The strap is rugged and features metal clasps. The strap comes with a comfortable shoulder pad which keeps your bag level. The strap is made of all high quality parts and material. You wont find a better strap for the money on amazon.

Comfortable Pad, Good, but Hooks Don't Open much
Pretty much as advertised. The pad is comfortable to wear. The hooks are smaller than I wanted and the opening of it is much smaller that I wanted. I was hoping to use it for my hard cased Plano bow case around the lock holes. What I had to do was slide the lock through the hooks and through the eyelets of the case. In the end it worked out but just be warned that the hooks open very small.

Does the job so far!
It was pricey, but it does the job pretty well. The straps and the hooks look durable. My bags are pretty heavy (almost 10 kg each) so I needed something that could withstand isuch a weight. In about two weeks of usage it hasn’t shown any sign of wear. Will update if something happens.
