Q: What the measurements inside the lid? My current dish always hits the top and sides of the butter. (to small) That is irritating.

I measured it. It's right about 7 inches. I also put a stick of butter in the lid and there is at least an inch of room to spare.

Q: This butter dish is under $6.00 at Walmart. Why so expensive here?

For those who cannot find this at their Walmart or may not have one they can purchase this item on Amazon. With Amazon fees and shipping costs I make less than $2 making this butter dish available for you on Amazon.

I have owned this dish for many years and have never had an issue with anyone of any age that I have fed from my kitchen. So.... No. I would not imagine so

Q: Will it hold block size butter European style?

No it does not. I have this and you have to trip European butter like Kerrygold to fit; you can't put the whole stick in there.
