This is an excellent option for a cheap family meal. The chicken is soft and flavoursome due to the marinade. Add extra peppers, onions ... whatever you like ... and a half tsp of Chinese five spice and a little soy sauce and you’re done! Serve with simple egg fried rice (just fry up a couple of whisked eggs until they are well broken up and golden) and mix with the cooked rice (I throw a handful of frozen peas into the rice for extra veg). A quick, tasty meal for 4 for around for less than £4. If you’re really hungry... add some noodles as a side.
