Avana Super Slant Full Length Bed Wedge Memory Foam Pillow with Cooling Tencel Cover, Half-Queen

Prior to purchasing this, I used several different types of bed wedges to address a problem that I'm having with low oxygen levels at night. The vast majority were the type that only extended to 3 feet or less. While they served a useful purpose, the short length made them uncomfortable to sleep on. In addition, the short length made it difficult to prevent my body from sliding down toward the end of the bed.Finally, after doing a lot of hunting online, I discovered a full length bed wedge and ordered it online. I was really looking forward to using it, however, when it arrived, I could clearly see that it was poorly made. The foam was way too soft and offered absolutely no support.Since I was already aware of the excellent reputation that Avana has, it was extremely encouraging to me when I discovered that they started making a full length version of their very popular bed wedge.The bed wedge comes in a vacuum sealed bag that miraculously fits inside a reasonably small box. Once you cut open the bag, the wedge expands rapidly to its full length. Be advised that if you decide to return this product, it will be impossible for you to get it back in the box. Thankfully, I won't have that problem.As far as using the bed wedge, I recommend airing it out for 24 hours. Since these are manufactured according to demand, the one that you receive will be fresh off the production line. As a result, there is a residual odor coming from the foam.The reason why I purchased this product is because for some unknown reason, while sleeping on my back, my oxygen levels drop to dangerously low levels. I don't have obstructive sleep apnea, but obviously something is going on that affects my oxygen saturation. Anyway, by keep my head elevated, this bed wedge eliminates the problem and also provides an extraordinarily comfortable surface to sleep on. In addition, the bamboo cover provides a cooler sleeping surface than a regular foam mattress.This bed wedge can be used to address a variety of issues, such as GERD, and would probably help those who have mild sleep apnea or snoring.The bottom line is that I'm extremely happy with my purchase and I highly recommend this product.

I wish they made the side sleeper wedge in this size. The side sleeper is squishier and more comfortable. I used that for years for acid reflux, but now I need a full length wedge for POTS symptoms, so I got this instead. It’s good but the foam is a little too firm for me. It’s supportive, stays put on my bed, and was fine when new, no terrible off gassing like some foams. I’m pretty sensitive to smells and it didn’t bother me at all. It comes super vacuum packed, so one word of warning — there’s zero chance you can get it back in the box if you need to return it. Also, if you want a blanket to cover it, a twin is too short, get a twin xl. (The cover is removable and washable but not easy to get on/off so I use a blanket to cover it and wash that more often.)

I have been sleeping on this bed wedge for about 18 months now. It is very comfortable, and I got used to sleeping on it right away.The main reason I got this was to help with my sleeping issues due to frequent bouts of GERD at night. The incidents of GERD have been reduced to just a few times total over the past 18 months. Prior to sleeping on this wedge, it was happening several times a week.Before purchasing this body wedge, I tried a half body wedge by another company and I could not sleep on it. I kept slipping down and it was not comfortable. The Avana Full length body wedge is perfect for my situation.I use a Twin XL fitted sheet over the wedge instead of trying to fit my Queen-sized fitted sheet over the wedge & other half of the bed. Using a twin xl sheet works great on this wedge.I am very happy I found this item and it is worth the price.

This wedge solved my acid reflux, restless sleep pattern and now use only one pillow. Biggest drawback is it takes up half of our queen size bed. Comfortable and good quality. No odd smell whatsoever. Better than a wedge pillow.

No more creaky back with those half-body wedges. I wish I had thought of this a long time ago.This puts my head up about 5-6 inches, enough to slow nighttime reflux, and I don’t even notice the elevated position at all. It looks a little strange on my half of a king size bed, but that’s a small price to pay. Not cheap, but well made and comfortable. I’ve been using it for a couple weeks now, it’s great.

After sleeping on this mattress about 2 weeks Ive noticed the following:Horrible aching pain from shoulders to legs.Absolutely 0 GERD relief.Very disappointing, especially with the whole sinking into the mattress topper thing. I’m not sure if it’s the lack of firmness or the slant that’s causing extreme pain.

After much investigation I opted to try this half-queen full-length wedge and I am SO HAPPY I did. It works great for me. I'm finally comfortable at night without awkward pressure on my lower back and hips. I would say it's closer to a 4-5" incline when all is said and done, but that seems to be enough for me. I no longer have overnight reflux symptoms, and I don't wake up stuffy anymore either.When you open it, it was pretty much ready for use. It doesn't take a long time to decompress (though I did give it a good 12 hours just in case). The cover can be removed and washed. The cover is snug, so there's no bunched material when you move around. I don't find myself sliding down, either.Great option for someone who doesn't want to elevate their full bed.
