Good company support, good product
Excellent union. Really like this brand. I was missing a part and the manufacturer shipped it to me.

Nice and tight
This is my favorite cutter. The action is very smooth and accurate. All my other cutters have some sort of play in them, and that can introduce error. The tray folds up for storage, which is nice, but I am more interested in having enough space to work. I have always found this cutter to be big enough to handle my projects (I cut from 8.5x11 sheets.)This company tends to hide replacement blades and cutting backer strips on/in the cutter somewhere, which is generous and practical. In this case, if there are any, I have not found them.

Does Not Disappoint
I needed a cutter that was very accurate, and this is the best! Don’t hesitate to buy it. Very easy to cut 100pt chipboard with.

Very nice cutter. Needs to store blades and cutting pads better
Very nice cutter. Needs to store blades and cutting pads better. It it does not come with an extra blade or cutting mat. I had to tape the blade storage compartment to the bottom of the cutting board because it did not clip in securely like the user manual said it would. The green clamp does not press down evenly. about an inch on one side of it is still raised by 1/8 inch after clamping it down. All in all I love this cutter and I would by it again in a heart beat.

Troubles with this cutter.
This cutter did not work for me for the following reasons:Paper did not hold in place well when using 6 sheets or more, thus causing the cut not to be straight. The measurements didn't show the 1/4" and 1/2" marks andy differently then the 1/8" marks. Takes longer to do the cutting. Also the tape measure in the hinged area is not there so if needing this area it is not workable. The cutting plate on the side moves up and down roughly an inch.I do love a Carl Cutter but not this one.Returned.

Won't cut acturate Measurements
This device will not cut accurate measurements. It is off by about 1/8 inch. Another review said that it wouldn't cut accurate measurements after the hinge, but I thought it was a fluke on her device. I also wasn't going to be cutting past the hinge, so I went ahead and tried it. In addition to cutting wrong measurements the description says it will cut 45 sheets of paper, which is around 15 sheets of cardstock at a time. It won't begin to cut that many. I tried 4 sheets of card stock and it would only cut 1-2 sheets of card stock at a time. My friend who has owned a CARL cutter for over 10 years and uses it all the time for paper crafting had recommened CARL cutters. She tried mine and said it is defective and send it back. I tried and they want to see a photo of the defect on the device. How is that even possible for these issues? They also want a photo of the packaging to prove it. That doesn't prove it so I am out my money.

Great Cutter
The best thing about this cutter is that it locks down the paper. This is done with a small lever type mechanism. Then you just cut. With other types you have to press down AND cut. This makes for uneven cuts. This unit doesn't do that and works great.

Not the best for card makers.
I am a Stampin’ Up! Demonstrator, and I needed a heavy duty cutter so I could cut quite a bit of card stock at once. I was able to cut 5 pieces at once with my other cutter. I can do so with this cutter as well however, I have to lift the bar, lock it down, which really slows down my process. The biggest disappointment for me is that the marks on the cutter are not helpful for cutting standard card sizes, and there are no grid lines running the length of the cutter that help me to make sure I am cutting straight. For a cutter that came so highly recommended, I am actually quite disappointed.
