Cages are pressed not clipped.
The cages do not come off with clips as advertised in the description and picture. This is the pressed on unit that everyone else sells. I paid a extra $50 premium for this unit due to the clips saving me another 2 hrs of labor taking apart the windshield wiper assembly out. Pretty annoying! These identical units sell at other sites for around $80. I paid the advertised price strictly because of the the advertised quick clips. BEHR makes a good product but the description is misleading.

Works fine. The removable squirrel cages are a must for installation. As much as it pains me to say this, it's probably worth the price over the $70, even if it isn't quite a $300+ part.

Works and I found easier way to install
Here's the deal. You can spend over $200 for a motor with removable cages, or you can fix the original BMW motor for under $20 with new brushes you can pickup at Ace hardware. Google fixing BMW E36 blower motor.Or you can do what I did, buy the Behr/hella motor with fixed non removable cages and if you don't mind doing a little ingenious work to make it fit WITHOUT A TON OF WORK., Simply get the old motor out by cutting the plastic cages, then if you use a Dremel tool with a long straight cutting bit, trim the air box so you can fit the new motor with cages on, I cut the entire top half of box into two pieces so I could remove passenger side of box, slide motor in from PASSENGER side with both cages on, then simply set the cut piece of the air box back in and patched it all up with some high quality duct tape. The thin metal kind. Also note, going in from the passenger side you don't have to disassemble anything with the windshield wiper assembly.Cutting the air box may not be for everyone, but I wasn't about to spend $200 on a blower motor for a 20 year old car. End result works fine.I watched videos with people pulling top half of intake manifold to make room for blower motor to fit in, that's just ridiculous.
