Empowerment Series: Direct Social Work Practice: Theory and Skills

I’m a 1st year MSW student and this is a very valuable resource for me already. I’m glad I bought my own copy because I will definitely be referring to it when I do my field placements. It has very detailed information on practice skills and how to perform talk therapy (again, the emphasis is on skills, not specific evidence based practices). It is generalist in focus—as is my MSW program so this orientation fit with my program’s.

The book came in good condition. No complaints. Good seller.

So I rented this for my SW Practice I class and well I ended up having to rent it AGAIN for my SW Practice II class. I should have bought the book. Especially because it has great info to study for the licensing exam. I’m going to end up buying this book even though I have the rental now. It’s sucks that I wasted so much money renting rather than buying. I HIGHLY suggest for you to buy this book if you are a social work major.

The book came the next day, although I am a Prime member. And for a rental, was in perfect condition which is always nice to get! As opposed to a bunch of markings and highlighting. And reasonably priced. Very pleased.

Better quality than I expected for it to be a used book. The picture of the back of the book is what it also looked like on the front I just forgot to take a picture of the front while it was dirty. I wiped it down with multi purpose cleaner and it looks really good.
