Works very well to remove trash in drilled well.

They're a tad shorter than they used to be. Still just as tough. Cores release pretty good. DO NOT use dry. I got 5 years out of my last one, and still have it. MANY jobs. Many nasty horizontal bore jobs by hand. Cuts through steel just fine. Burnt up the first drill and on my second now, and still have that first bit.

Works well for the price.

I used this to cut through my concrete to run a sewer pipe. This hole saw worked well. You must keep it very wet or it will get stuck. As I was getting deeper, the cutting became slower, I think the diamonds were wearing out. You need to remove and disassemble it, take a bar and knock out the concrete from inside of it routinely. Also you need a good grinder as it takes a lot of torque to cut through. I burned up 2 grinders on this project. This is a great product for a one time use.

Drilled through concrete blocks somewhat quickly. Used a chisel to cut a small groove to get bit started.

Answer is NO. I tried a regular drill and a regular hammer drill but become extremely frustrated quickly. The long pilot bit is really critical for when you get stuck deep in the hole. Get the core bit back out and send the pilot bit through several times.Other important tips:* Use the hammer mode. I know it says all over this page not to do that but I couldn't make any progress with out it. Used hammer mode and everything was fine, drill bit is still in great shape.* Lots of water. I would drill 10 seconds, spray tons of water, then drill another 10 seconds and so on.* Drill lots of pilot holes. If you get stuck just drill a bunch more little holes and break out some of the pieces stuck in there.* Don't let brick build up inside the core bit. Always shake it out or pound it out before you collect too much which can cause the bit to get stuck.$300-$350 worth of equipment to drill holes is a bargain compared to what I was quoted.Have fun!

I used this bit to drill a 2” hole through my foundation and it worked perfectly. I connected it to my SDS+ drill with an adapter, and kept the bit wet with a hose. I wasn’t sure this setup would work but I was pleasantly surprised and it was a lot cheaper than renting a drill rig or hiring out the job. Took about 15 minutes and the bit is none the worse for wear. Highly recommended!

Purchased to cut a hole in some flagstone for a fountain. Got one hole cut (1.5-2” thick flagstone). Had water running over the whole thing while I was drilling the hole. It took probably 15 or 20 minutes and it looks great, however, the majority of the diamonds are gone from the bed. It’s basically a $50 hole. My goal was to draw several of these holes but my goal is being revised because I cannot afford to drill one a hole for $50 over and over.

I needed a 7/8 in. bit to core drill 3 in. concrete pavers for pool safety cover anchors. After a dozen holes drilled it is still in good shape. It took a while to get here (Canada) but was worth the wait.

The matrix is not as it is pictured. The cost to ship it. I ordered a 2-1/2" and automatically got billed for a 3". the price is good for what it is but the shipping undoes that. Hopefully it doesn't fall apart. Not happy with the shipping cost overall.
