Cheap
The concept is good and the potato clock worked when the electrodes were put in the potatoes, the only issue is that the buttons on the clock to change the time do not work. You have to wait for 12:00 am/pm to set up your experiment if you want the correct time.

What's inside grandma?
This is for a Christmas gift. Not sure yet about how it will work. What I am disappointed in, is that it's in a plain white box. No picture on it or even a word as to what it is. I'm having to print a photo to tape to the box. And, tape a description of what's in the box.

Simple and works
Worked as expected. Didn't really work initially, but I left it overnight and it's been running for a few weeks now. Kids got a kick out of it. Didn't replace the rods or wire or anything. Very cool!

Surprisingly well built and more accurate than my Seiko
I was surprised by how well built this clock was, the cathodes and anodes are all heavy gauge metal and durably wired. It has been over a month since I assembled this and the clock is still accurate to the second. In contrast I purchased several of the 4M potato clock kits as gifts and they would lose a couple minutes a week. I did not expect to use this as a "real" clock but you totally can. Then again, maybe I just used some really awesome potatoes.

Didn't work
I purchased this as a neat little science project for my nephew. I figured he would get a kick out of running a clock on potatoes. Well, when you get a kid to do something as stupid as plug a clock into a potato and nothing happens, you can imagine how the interest wanes.Anyway, the return process was good, so I'll sport a star for that.Epilogue - I purchased a flimsier version from Radio Shack that worked first try. It's a shame, as I liked the setup of this clock, and, if it had worked, it probably would last a good long time.

I found the negative write ups to be false.
Be sure the polarity is correct, copper and aluminum, when inserting the electro-forks. The directions read “series”. If you insert the forks with the correct polarity, BLAMO! It works! EZPZ....

Potato Clock.
Ordered this for sons science project as school, It worked great and he used it on several different type of fruits and veggies. Did not win any awards because teacher said it had been done so many times before.

A better version of what i had as a kid.
I purchased this unit for my daughter and out of the box it works great (provided you have two taters around). This is the definition of plug and play. A wonderful way for kids and adults to marvel at the power of simply battery design. The blue color made it a bit more fun than my black one i had as a kid. $15 winner in our household.
