Lonely Planet Yellowstone & Grand Teton National Parks (National Parks Guide)

This book ended up being our go-to for our first trip to Yellowstone. It helped us plan things heading into and out of the parks and got us excited about finding adventures along the way. We did a family road trip and this book was our guide along the way. The kids flipped through it while we were planning and added their "must sees" to our itinerary. The descriptions are short enough and have vivid pictures so our 6 & 8 year old both found it fascinating. Then when on our actual trip we could read more detailed sections on the things we were visiting as we wanted to learn more or to help pass the time on the drive. An absolute must have for a great family trip. We bought more for other parks just based on this experience!

Useful book for advance planning and while we were in the parks. Yellowstone especially has spotty cell reception, so having a paper resource was invaluable.

Book very informative, helpful with vacation planning

I've always used the Lonely Planet travel books for international and domestic travel. I get all the info required to plan my trips, helpful ideas on places to see that may be off the beaten path and a sense of what I'll encounter on my trips

Have relatives who live in the Yellowstone and Grand Teton area and wanted to seewhat the area is like...what there is to do, etc. It's a great guide!!

Just basic information available on google. The best travel book I have found is "Yellowstone Treasures".

I got several guidebooks from the library and liked this one the best. In particular there is plenty of info on the places outside the park that you will have to pass through to get there, and lots of good maps for when you’re there.

I love the Lonely Planet books - highly recommend this one and others I’ve purchased.
