4th Time Is a Charm! Great budget 2G phone with lots of features!
UPDATED 6/9/17 - Just a note that this phone DID work on T-Mobile's 2G network, but only sporadically. Because of that we are returning it. T-Mobile advertises that it would take any AT&T 2G customers and would keep its own 2G network up until at least 2020, however T-Mobile's advertised coverage did not match its actual coverage in our experience. The phone was fine and we would have kept it and used another carrier had we not already put a lot of money into the T-Mobile Pay-As-You-Go plan we purchased.~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~This is the 4th phone BLU Diva Flex phone I purchased in a week, the first one was the wrong color (my fault), the second one was in delivery limbo, the 3rd one I purchased as a used item and it arrived broken, and this one which is working fine 1 hour out of the box. All the phones were lightweight and thin. My favorite colors were the blue/green and pink ones. We only got white because it shipped faster for some reason. This review shows up under both the gold and white colors since they came from the same seller (I think).Things to know:1) This is a 2G phone! It works on T-Mobile and T-Mobile says they will keep their 2G network for at least 3 more years, not many other carriers have 2G networks, so check before you buy this. We are using this with a 10-cent per minute Pay As You Go plan.2) Phone takes standard size SIMs (the big ones), so if you are planning to use a SIM you already have you may need to buy an adapter.3) Phone has a camera and can take video - surprise to mePros- Backlit keypad (appreciated by 78-year old user).- Connected to network fine using existing and active T-Mobile SIM - I only had to go into settings and tell the phone which SIM slot to use.- FM radio is pretty cool and plays over the speaker. It can also be set to play in the background so you can text or fiddle around with other phone features while you listen- Phone appears to be set to British English as it calls the flashlight setting "torch"Cons- I didn't want a white phone because I expect it to show wear and tear. The white color is matte and not pearly while the pink, green and gold phones were pearlized.- I feel a little nervous taking off the back cover since the plastic doesn't seem that sturdy, but who has to open the back cover a lot?- The charger is AC only and not convertible to charge from a USB port. I'm not actually sure what kind of connector it is, it's not mini-USB like my android, the connector is a tad bit larger- There are no external settings to adjust volume, it's all based on using the keypad and menu settings, I'm used to being able to quickly silence a phoneDefinitely worth it as we are using it mainly for travel so we can find each other in the resort area, at the airport, etc. - I have a smart phone for Uber, boarding passes, etc. so this basic phone is all we need.

The charger is something that will break easily as time goes on
My Mother is 80 years old and I purchased this item as it was to be unlocked and compatible with ATT. It comes with virtually no manual. The charger is something that will break easily as time goes on. Once I inserted the SIM card I could not get the phone to NOT say emergency only. It would not pick up the network at all. I searched and searched for details on this phone so that I could trouble shoot the issues and I could not find any sort of tutorial on this phone. The quality of the phone is that of a 23.00 phone...cheap. I have a computer background and have had numerous smart phones, basic phones and so on. I am pretty knowledgeable when it comes to troubleshooting anything technical. My sound advice is do not purchase this phone. If you do, please remember that old saying...you get what you pay for.

Easy, cheap, and great for people who are tired of apps
For that price, It works nicely. The keys are nice to use. The screen is small, but gives me all the info I need. I didn't have any expectations when I ordered this. I didn't even know if it would work here in Norway, but the signals are quite good, and the quality of the conversations are actually better than on my Samsung S6 edge. It does not have a lot of functions as we are common to these days. No internet, no apps, just phonecalls and messaging, and that gives me about a week of battery-time. It does have functions like calculator, alarm-clock, flashlight and calendar, and I've realized that's all I need.

A decent backup device for emergencies.
I originally picked this up as a costume piece, but I ended up using it when I dropped my smartphone. It's a fine device. The communication features are a bit limited, but it also includes a handful of nifty features most modern smartphone users will be used to.The phone only features a very dated network connection, no data options here. Voice calls and text messaging are available on the device, but email, internet, and other data connection features are not available. Even modern baseline options like visual voicemail are not featured here (of course, holding the 1 key will get you to your messages just like the old days).Voice quality is okay, a little quiet on the normal earpiece speaker, but the handsfree speakerphone has a respectable volume. The connection is not nearly as clear as you'll get on any smartphone though, and is not even comparable to a wifi-call. Texting on a classic dialpad is a bit of a pain, especially without something like T9 predictive text. There are multiple keyboard options, so most special characters should be covered. The device charges quickly via a micro USB port, though I have yet to find any way to use that to transmit data to the phones internal storage or expandable microSD storage. Speaking of, the device does allow for 32GB of expandable storage (on top of the measley 5.5KB of internal). You can load images, songs, and video to the device (though video may be restricted to the archaic .3gp file type - I've yet to experiment). The music player is pretty bare-bones, but it does allow for background play, and the phone has a 1/8" audio jack for headphones/auxiliarry output. You can also pair with blutooth devices and play audio that way, but the quality is very bad. I haven't done any testing with a blutooth headset, but I imagine it would not have any issue using that. Some weird things with the phone I've noticed include a lack of a discreet volume setting. Instead, the phone has 4 ring profiles - General (normal), Silent (no ring/vibrate), Meeting (vibrate), and Outdoor (loud). Custom ringtones are possible with any mp3 audio file you load on the device, which is nice, but you cannot update the text message notification tone. The calendar function on the device is nothing more than a date tracker. You can view a calendar, but cannot make any appointments. There are also 5 alarms that can be set simultaneously, with custom day repeat options. The camera sucks. Not much else to say about that.I haven't used the Dual SIM feature, since I only have one SIM card, but my AT&T card works without any issues in both slots (located inside the battery compartment). Battery life is great as well, lasting well over a day - my battery indicator shows, at worst, 2/3 battery left after a full day (though that's probably because I only play music from it for about 1-2 hours during the day and maybe a few texts - still better than my iPhone used to do). It's not a bad backup phone (though BLU makes budget smartphones too, so that might be a better option), and I'll be keeping it on-hand in the future. Just in case. :)
