Great for young kids!
My son is 3 1/2 and this set is perfect for him. He loves helping and is always wanting to cut things with me. These are the perfect size for little hands and sharp enough to cut apples, celery, peppers, bread, etc but still safe enough to allow him to use without worry. I appreciate that there is a serrated and non-serrated option and notice him assessing which he thinks will work best. Would definitely recommend to other parents!

Excellent Learning Knife
I bought this knife for my daughter last year when she turned 3. She loves to help out in the kitchen, and this allowed her to take another step toward helping with meal prep as well as cutting her own food at the table. In the kitchen she chops vegetables for soups and other dishes. Carrots and potatoes are her favorites to cut. She has even managed to cut very thin carrot slices with it. She's never had any kind of injury from this knife. The blade is made such that it would be pretty difficult to cut skin, but I wondered if it would slip off of a carrot and cause a blunt injury of some kind. Hasn't happened. She's able to cut all kinds of raw and cooked vegetables, as well as cooked meats, though this takes a little more effort and does not produce a clean cut. The knife has held up well over the last year's worth of washings in the dishwasher and still looks like new. It seems very well made and my daughter loves it. I highly recommend this for children who are ready to start learning knife skills.

Buying another set
Love these knives. My 2.5 year old was upset that his knives didn’t cut and he couldn’t prep dinner with me. I love the design of the dog. The first use he understood not to touch the dogs face (the blade). Amazon won’t let my upload a second video showing that will it cuts food (mango in the video) it doesn’t cut skin. I’m buying a set for my mother in laws house

Cute, safe, yet effective
Works well for my two year old toddler. It cuts veggies fairly well but the serrations aren’t sharp, so gives me a piece of mind. Encourages kids to learn slicing motion as opposed to just pushing down.

Awesome safe tools for kids
These are fantastic for teaching kids basic "sharps" skills. Easy to handle, fun and totally safe yet they really can cut slice and snip without putting little fingers at any risk. They can cut things as solid as raw carrots, mushrooms and radishes yet cannot cut fingers. Its not that there is a guard ( there is ) but they somehow found the perfect width blade that cuts hard foods (and soft) without being a flesh threat. Plus the cute shapes and bright colors appeal to kids. sturdy and easy to handle even for a 3 yr old. My kids LOVE being able to help with prepping dinner with these..

Blades neither blunt nor sharp
The quality of these is fine, and my kid finds them really appealing, and I'm pretty sure they're safe in the sense that she's unlikely to hack off a finger -- but as nervous as I was about it, I found that the kitchen wisdom that a blunt knife is a dangerous knife still holds true even with my kid. You know your kid best and obviously if yours seems like they might wave the knife around, yes, go for something like this. But I got hives watching how much pressure mine had to use to cut cucumbers and wound up giving her a real knife and standing RIGHT next to her. With a proper sharp knife it just slid through the veggies really easily with very little force and she maintained control over the path of the cut easily. My kid is going 8, I don't think I'd give a very sharp knife to a child much younger, so these might still be a good choice for, say, a 4 year old who wants to slice apples or cheese or something.

Excellent tool for children!
The handle is kid size, the design makes teaching knife skills easy (thumb on the puppy’s ear), and it’s sharp enough to cut without young vHolstein just forcing the knife through the food (dangerous habit!). We learned about these from a nonprofit children’s food program (they do tastings and let kiddos help with recipe prep) so I knew how to teach proper skills and that you should start with the serrated blade as it encourages the back and forth motion versus the flat blade. My 3 year old can use it with supervision. I set up his hand and re teach the motions before he does it by himself. This is real metal, not plastic so it has the right weight and sizing.

It works and is less dangerous than a pencil
This was worth every cent. We let my 6 and 8 year old chop veggies and cut play doh with this. At first, we were hesitant to let a kid have a knife. But after many uses we feel comfortable letting them have this. It isn’t pointy, so it won’t impale them even if they fall on it. It is also not razor sharp at all and so won’t cut their fingers. The blade is thick enough to be sturdy and the rounded serrations make it effective at cutting, but honestly a sharpened pencil is more dangerous than this. Highly recommend this product.

I gave this to my less than 3 year old grandson who loved it. His 5 year old brother immediately wanted one like it. The tip is blunt, and I gently pulled the knife across my hand- no pain. Obviously, children that age need to be supervised even with a "safe" knife like this. While it works well for 3 or 4 year olds, I think even older children will still enjoy using it- depending on how used they are to using these kind of things. I would expect children to have outgrown this knife by age 8. Definitely recommend as a first real dinner and helping in the kitchen knife.

My 2 1/2 year old found this knife very easy to use and it’s easier to cut or “sharper” than another brand of kid‘s knife I have purchased. I like how the shape of the blade is flat against the chopping board.

Recomendable
