MILITARY STYLE STAINLESS STEEL CANTEEN WITH CUP, 1.3LITER (44oz.) AND LID With Genuine G.I. Nylon Od Color Insulated Canteen Cover KIT.

I bought this about a year and a half ago. Use it every day for what it’s meant. A water canteen. I have heated up the cup and used the lid. No problem at all. I found no reason to actually heat up the canteen itself. And with the provided cup I probably won’t. If I had one thing I wish it came with would be a stove, but I knew going in that it didn’t. Like I can’t fashion one when camping anyway. I don’t think I’ll ever have to, but if I had to buy another canteen it would be this one.

Pretty sure this isn't made from stainless steel. Got this item and washed everything with a mild dish soap. Set them in the drying rack over night. The next morning the cup had rust spots on the bottom, and the canteen was rusted around the inside lip. There was also discoloration and rust spots on the inside of the canteen around the welded rim. Returned the item. If it cant handle being gently washed then I don't think it could handle being abused on the trail.

Good quality set. Lid fits cup tightly. I drilled at both sides of the lid for a strainer.I gave 4 stars because of the plastic lid on the canteen. Yoy can detach it to boil water. I love and use it every day.

Quality gear for the money, had to remove the chain and reconnect a S carabeaner and wash the smell out of the inside of the canteen.
