Entry level Mudmaster, a definite winner for an all occasion wristwatch
Watch was delivered on time and in perfect condition, am very happy. This Casio Mudmaster is everything I wanted out of a wristwatch, genuine sapphire glass, high G forces durable, EZ to read face, extremely reliable, bonus compass and thermometer, but most of all, ACCURATE in keeping time. I own a host of other Casios(ie. gold metal G-Shocks, digital and sports analogs), and one thing I noticed within a few days is the Mudmaster doesn't sprint ahead a few seconds per week, it's virtually spot on with my wall clock sync'd with Atomic Time. I'm a stickler for accuracy, which accounts for my other Swiss watches, but this one I can wear when getting a little dirty is the occasion for the day. This Casio is in a whole other league. For those thinking about the Mudmaster series, the buttons are a little more in-depth than your typical department store Casio watch. It's a good thing YouTube has videos to help you figure out your Mudmaster, I recommend learning there. This Casio Mudmaster is one of the best values for what you are getting in a wristwatch. It's pricey to where you are getting a high quality wristwatch, but not outrageous, it's that right amount of dollar/quality ratio. If you're still on the fence, "oh, but it's still a Casio", I'd just like to say the G-Shock Mudmasters are a next echelon in their line of wristwatches. You are getting what you pay for, and then some. I hope you enjoy your wristwatch, as much as I am enjoying mine!

All killer. No filler.
This watch is badass! I went down the rabbit hole of G-Shocks, especially the Master of G Mudmaster line. I could easily afford the GWG-B1000 or GWG-2000, but here's why I chose the GG-1000 instead: - No altimeter or barometer needed. I'm not flying a plane, so I don't need to know my altitude or if a strong low-pressure system indicates an approaching storm. Compass and thermometer? Sure, I’ll take ‘em. Just so you know, the thermometer measures temperature at the case against your skin, so you're either gonna wonder why it's always 80+ degrees, or just be happy to see you're still alive. Take it off and set it somewhere for a half hour to see the real temp. - Cleaner design. Other Mudmasters put a giant light button at the bottom that looks like an exhaust port or some damn thing. The GG-1000 is still chonky but streamlined, if that's possible. - Don't get hung up on the strong solar function (or lack thereof). You change flat tires, know how to use jumper cables, and replace your furnace filters, right? Right? Learn to change your own watch batteries like a real man. - I don't want or need another bluetooth device talking to my phone. Wilderness or office, I'm likely relying on this watch alone. By the way, I'm totally rocking this in the office ALL THE TIME. Women love me, men want to be me. - If you like a military vibe - and who doesn't? - the 1A3 designation has more muted camo colors and makes me smile on the inside every time I look at it. Of course, on the outside I'm still a stone-faced warrior. - The function dial looks like a revolver cylinder. More badassery. - One light is plenty. It shines from beneath, like it's telling you a scary story in front of the campfire. - Less than half the cost of the high-end models, if that matters. Would I change anything? Okay, maybe add a step counter. But with the compass, I can map a zig-zag route to get more steps in, so still winning. Buy this watch, whatever the color scheme. Your cool factor will increase exponentially.

Ideal for off-road with a Jeep
Just purchased and very satisfied. The Casio G-Shock GG-1000 Mudmaster feels solid, rugged, and comfortable on the wrist. I’ll mainly be using it for off-road driving with my Jeep, and it already inspires a lot of confidence for rough use, dust, and vibration. Excellent visibility, well-protected buttons, and a design that perfectly matches the 4x4 lifestyle. You can tell this watch is made for adventure.

Unable to see digital readout at night.
This watch is a bit pricey at $200+ dollars and not that much different than the Casio Aviator G Shock which is somewhat smaller but has all the features of this watch, including temperature and the compass...Don't get me wrong I really like my G Shocks, I own a half dozen and they are very stylish and durable . My biggest complaint with ALL of my Casio G-Shock (duel time) watches is the fact that Casio is apparently unable or unwilling to simply backlight the digital readouts on any of them...Yes they all have a light that pretty well illuminates the hands but does absolutely nothing to illuminate the digital time and date. Smael has a cheap knockoff of this watch for around $10 to $15 that doesn't have many of the Mudmasters features but at least they do have the digital readouts nicely backlit...If Smael can do this on their $10 to $15 dollar watches why cant Casio do it on a $200+ dollar G Shock?

Initially, I'm THRILLED
12/1/22 - I've only had this watch a week. So far I love it. It's built like a tank and looks magnificent. I love all the great features and really appreciate having so much info readily accessible. SIZE: Everyone told me it would be too thick and bulky and I should stick with something smaller. I haven't worn a watch in decades, yet I don't agree with them. Aside from staring at it constantly because it's so gorgeous I hardly notice it's there. I worried it'd get snagged on my pants pockets and/or get in the way when I'm typing but I'm not seeing a problem yet. FEATURES: I love having a digital compass and backlit display at my fingertips. I chose a twin sensor model most for the thermometer though and it seems to be unreliable because it's greatly affected by body temp. I feel they should warn you that you'd need to remove the watch for 30 minutes to get an accurate reading. COMFORT: Another concern I had was the band material. I worried it would be uncomfortable and cause my wrist to sweat. I'm happy to say neither is true. I find the resin band to feel quite nice. It feels rugged and the texture keeps the watch form twisting as much as metal bands do. Kudos to Casio for plastic wings (back protectors) that make the back of the watch where the band attaches feel comfy. DURABILITY: I haven't beaten mine up much but I have banged the crystal on hard objects accidentally and was amazed it didn't break. I also scratched it against metal a few times and it's still in mint condition. The band is held on like a tank tread, wow. I can't imagine how you could put enough force on this watch to break the band; it feels indestructible. I hate the typical spring pins, so I'm glad to see such beefy connectors. OVERALL: I had a hard time dropping this much money on a watch, but I believe I'm getting my money's worth. I bet this is the last watch I ever have to buy.
