Let's start. its a lovely laptop. Came in a sealed package. I think HP got the balance right in making this portable and leaving all material features in. While some things may be lacking (see below) they aren't important to the type of use (i.e. on the go). Pros Ideal for travel - light weight laptop with a tiny power adapter with a massive punch! (I have other Envy360s which are quite heavy). Love the webcam disable button. Fingerprint (after an update it stopped working so trying to get that going...) SSD is user replaceable if you want a bigger storage MicroSD reader Standard Back-lit Keyboard with on, dim and off settings; large keys make it easier to type Bright IPS display Cons (none of this really matters) No display out direct (no HDMI or Ethernet). You need to use a USB C port replicator but then HDMI and VGA works fine (no issues, hangups or freezing...) Memory is fixed (8GB) which seems fine for this type of a laptop. Fingerprint reader may not be stable after windows updates etc. USB Type A's (on both sides) have a small latch (this makes the laptop body looks so small when none of those are plugged in. However, they seem slightly delicate and may get broken unless USB's aren't plugged with care. The description in Amazon could be improved (for instance, didn't say it had a fingerprint reader or the actual model number; but the seller is quite responsive and helpful). Highly recommended.

A superb computer, very fast, startup in just seconds. Sound from the speakers is outstanding, very loud and clear. When I read the news I open 12 sites at a time and the computer is very quick to load with negligible lag. Battery life is ok. I have the brightness set at 50 and I use the Firefox browser which is heavy on the battery. From a full charge, checking email and reading the news I get six hours. The 8GB seems more than enough for general use. I have had many laptops some several hundred dollars more and I would rate this one as the best of all.

This is the first review I have ever left on Amazon which says something. Two years after only moderate use of the HP Envy, one of the hinges started coming apart (a common problem with HPs), making the laptop unusable. Since I was out of warranty I went to HP's local authorized repair center (uBreakiFix), they checked the serial number and said the part they needed isn't available to order anymore. He then told me all he could recommend was calling HP directly. Calling HP and selecting the option for problems with HP products plays an automatic recording telling you to go to their website, then hangs up on you. I go to the website and clicking on HP support gives the option of either buying over-the-phone tech support, using a virtual agent (useless - I tried), or looking up authorized HP service centers in my area - the same service center which just told me to call HP. The support web page has no phone number, no email, nothing. Clicking on hardware repair just redirects you back to the HP support page. Let me be clear - I'm not even expecting a free repair - I have been willing to pay for it. But HP makes that impossible. In effect this is planned obsolescence and if it's not illegal then it should be. Do yourself a favor and stay away from HP products unless you're fine with having a paper weight two years later.

Nice laptop with good specs for the money. Only shortcoming for me is lack of ports, but it's to be expected for a portable such as this. Very happy with purchase

This laptop has the features I was looking for to replace my aging Acer Switch 12. It has an i5 processor with 8 GB Ram, 250 GB SSD, touch screen, back lit keyboard and finger print sign-in. Battery life seems to be around 8 hours. So far laptop is working fine. I have only heard the fan once which occurred during an HP Bios update. I am using this PC mainly for web browsing, YouTube, Hulu and Quicken finance.
