Yes, I usually put some soap on it and the exfoliate.

Q: are these tanning mitt's absorbent? Wouldn't that require that copious amounts of product to be wasted for using the mitt?

Hi! Thank you for your question. The answer is no - our self tanning lotions are too thick to be directly absorbed into the mitt. And for use with Self - tanning oil we recommend using latex gloves that come with it.
