A lightweight leather hat that fits perfectly and looks good. Seems to be well made with a minimal of materials - just leather, but holds its shape well. Designed to be crushable for traveling and snaps bag into shape instantly. I woul have purchased from American Hat, but they charge $9 for a mandatory insurance benefit. Can’t buy it without it, which seems anti-consumer.

Well... I'm a baldy, so hats are a must. Hats keep me from getting sunburned, keep me warm, dry, and cool (as in temperature). This hat fits exactly according to the size. It is very well made and looks great. I've worn it in the rain and it kept the rain off my glasses and neck. You might say I'm a hat expert currently owning about 25 hats and this hat is my favorite for spring and fall, it keeps me nice and warm. I have another with mesh for the summer. I will buy this hat again when this one wears out.

I just got home from being out of town for the weekend and my Crusher Outback hat was already delivered (3 days early!)! I’ve been wanting an outback style hat for a long time and finally pulled the trigger - and man am I happy I chose this company and this hat. The hat is true quality and well worth the price. The leather is so comfortable - I’ve been wearing it for the past 3 hours and my head feels great. I got the “bomber” color and it looks even better than in the picture. Last but not least, the fit is dead on perfect (even if it wasn’t, the included bands would allow for adjustment). I’ll be an American Hat Maker customer from here on in! Great work!

I have bought 3 hats from Amazon. Always difficult because you don't know what you're going to get. The first 2 were awful purchases as what I saw on the photo from the order was not what I received. I was at the point of giving up looking for a nice quality leather Outback hat online when I came across American Hat makers and their reviews. I trusted the reviews and ordered the hat. I am more than pleased. I just pulled it out of the box and it actually fits and the rims are not shaped differently on each side. It's a nice look all the way around. Plus it came with these inserts that let you customize the fit perfectly to your head. This thing is amazing. I will update this review in a few months after a proper trial. As of now, I highly recommend this purchase.

I got this hat for Flyfishing and hiking. I think it looks great. Love the beautiful gray color. Very light weight and sometimes forget I have it on. It is not your typical leather hat. If is very soft and flexible. I love this feature, but that may not be for everyone. You can actually crush it and it bounces right back. They send in a very nice box, which I have saved. Very nicely packaged up. I got it quicker than expected. The best part is that it is truly waterproof. Something that was a top priority for me. Being in the mountains you never know when a shower may appear. This is much better than I expected. It fits my needs perfectly. Also, having a bit of a wider rim helps keep the sun off my ears and neck, which was another major concern of mine. I store it in my closet, on top of a roll of paper towels and sit on a shelve. Keeps it very nice. I recommend this hat for outdoor activities and it is perfect for wearing all the time!

When I first took this out of the box I wasn't sure I had gotten my money's worth. Seemed too light and flimsy. But as soon as I tried it on I was sold! Very light which means comfortable, very well stitched, came with an assortment of reusable sweat bands, I like it! Truth is if it was any heavier it'd get very uncomfortable after awhile. We'll see how well it holds up over time but right now I'm happy with it!

I love the way it retains its shape. I wore it all weekend out in the fishing boat, it kept the sun off, survived a drenching and still looks great.

I bought this Crusher hat to replace my current Crusher hat which has worn out after 4 years. I don't like this newer version, it's kind of flimsy and not nearly as sturdy as my current Crusher hat. I received it today and returning it tomorrow.
