Honestly, these pads are a great fit and replacement for the old A40 model. Mine are about 6-7+ years old at this point and these just extended their life by another 3+ years if not more! I have zero interest in upgrading as they sound pretty good for what I use them for!I will say that the installation isn't very easy, but this isn't the fault of the pads themselves, anyone docking this product for how difficult it is to install is totally missing the mark in my humble opinion. The installation is hard because of ASTRO's design being subpar. They've decided to use tiny and crappy screws under the pads, and they're very difficult to get to as you have to stretch the pads out a lot in order to reassemble the A40 and insert the screws back (4 of them in each ear cup).This drawback has absolutely nothing to do with this specific product and everything to do with bad design on ASTRO's part. But overall it's doable (it's not like it's something you do often, so I'll excuse it).I certainly recommend this product! It'll extend the life of your old A40's for sure!

Does not fit Astro A40 gen 1/2 as intended. Instead they have a 3m sticky tape on the back to affix to your headset

Finally the ear cushions in my Astro A40s disintegrated and died (RIP), so I began the quest for a replacement set of cushions and was shocked at the cost of the genuine cushions ($80+). As these were about $22 I thought is was worth the risk to make this purchase, and BINGO they fit so well over the magnetic ear cup and are comfy, quiet and value for money.
