Bought this to see if we could connect up our WII that’s been sitting in a cupboard for the past few years. Worked a treat and now the WII has a new life being used again. Easy to set up.

I've got some old family VHS tapes I'm converting to digital format. The VCR is hooked into the RCA side of the converter with the HDMI side connected to a USB HDMI capture dongle in the laptop. Using OBS to capture the video. Pros: There is a switch on the side to change between 720p and 1080p, very handy. It is USB powered so it happily runs off a usb port on my laptop, another plus. Upscaling to 1080p is very good. Quality is great. Audio pass through works well. Cons: Not really any major cons. A minor nitpick. The audio was a little low in volume. This could be the source VCR or the HDMI capture card, but was easily fixed by boosting the volume in OBS. Audio is clear and as good as the original.

This is a good item. One thing to note, though, is that it outputs video in NTSC which works great for capturing to a computer. However if you're hoping to connect this up to a PAL television you will run into issues.
