Q: Are these a good size for serving side dishes?

They hold about 4 cups. Would depend on size of side dish. But yes, for small sides like vegies, rice, mashed potatoes, etc. They are great for soup.

Q: Is this serving bowls large enough to hold full side dishes?

I have a large family of 5 and the bowls are not quite big enough for side dishes for us. They are attractive and nice but for me I will use them for garnish dishes during the holidays.

I would Say 2.5in. at center of bowl, not a super deep dish, and a little on the narrow side too... still trying to decide if I’m keeping my set. Cute shape but possibly not as useful as hoping
