The Reason It's Not a Five-Star GoPro Pole
The GoScope BOOST is a solid design. The telescoping/locking mechanism is stellar; there are no screws and it feels super sturdy! The pole itself is lightweight but feels strong like bull! The aluminum-magnesium alloy feels really dependable! The grip feels like the handlebars to a bike; it's a tough rubber that gives you a great grip. If your grip fails you, there's a quality wrist strap that's included. This is a great overall product, but it's not perfect in my eyes and let me tell you why. It's great for selfie shots, but if I want to aim the GoPro in a forward direction I would have to remount the GoPro; the mount is limited to about 130 degrees with the waterproof housing. I would have liked the mount to allow for more than 180-degree-rotation like my other pole, the GoPole. I will upload pictures to show you what I'm talking about. So for this reason, I did not give the GoScope BOOST 5 stars. It was almost a deal breaker for me. Fortunately I semi-solved my problem by adding a three-way pivot arm (included with GoPro camera) so that I am able to swivel the GoPro around for forward shots on the fly. I say "semi-solved" because it doesn't give a complete 270-degree pivot but it allows about 225 degrees which is a lot better than the insignificant 130 degrees. I also like that the there are dual mounts for the GoPro; not because I would like to mount 2 GoPros at the same time, but because it stabilizes the GoPro when I set it down. Who carries around multiple GoPros anyway!? So other than that one gripe, the GoScope is a quality product.I have owned a GoPro for about 1 year. I typically use it for traveling. I have been using the GoPole for a little under a year and just recently picked up the GoScope BOOST. I just used the GoScope on a recent trip to the San Diego Safari Zoo and this was when I realized the difficulties in shooting selfies and then quickly wanting to shoot forward. I have not taken the GoScope under water so I don't know how it will do in the ocean, but the GoPole would allow water to seep in the pole. Well I hope this review helps.

Unreliable Pole with lots of issues
Have had problem after problem with this thing. As soon as I got it I went to the local pool and jumped in with it. As soon as I got out the upper twist locking segment did not lock. So it was just spinning and not locking in. I then tried to get it to lock (I was not all to impressed) But I still wanted to use it for some cool pool go pro shots. The top segment then popped off entirely and has never been functioning properly. It either comes off or it does not tighten properly (Even now out of any water). You might get lucky and get some kind of use out if it but I really don't fully trust my 400$ camera on it. Make sure you have back up floats on your camera and each part of the pole so if it fails in the water you are not screwed. Would NOT buy again and would go with a more sturdy and reliable pole so I know that If I am tubing or water skiing I know that I will not loose my camera or not get any footage.

Great Pole!
I love this thing. Super fast to extend and collapse. You can apparently use it under water too! This one is the older model so it lacks to the GoScope Revolution swivel mount, which you can buy separately, essentially upgrading it to the new one. The only downside is the remote mount, which I wouldn't trust in extreme conditions, but certainly will work for walking around and basic jumping. I don't own the remote though, so I don't even notice. The safety strap seems solid and I appreciate how it screws in. There's also some thin holes at the bottom in case you want to use your own safety cable.

Broke immediately
I bought 2. The first one broke as soon as I extended it the first time. Felt like a seal or something came loose inside. The GoPro just swings around, no way to hold it straight. The second broke during the first dive, same issue. Completely useless.

Bad product
I bought this for a trip to the Caribbean and the moment it got wet the locking rings were useless and failed hold the sections secure so the pole would spin and slide out. Would like to return it but it is beyond the 30 day return period so I guess it will just go in the trash.
