I have used several brands of earplugs over the years for sleeping. These are by far the best. I have a noisy family, and I live in a place with a lot of birds. Previously, I was using shooting-grade earplugs for sleeping. In this review I will be talking about why sleeping earplugs will work better, even if they have slightly less noise cancellation. Shooting earplugs work great for blocking noise, but not for sleeping. They use a very stiff type of foam that will crinkle in your ear if you sleep on your side and it moves around or gets compressed by anything, like if it's sticking out of your ear and touches the bed. They are very firm and will put so much pressure on your ears that it can be painful and wake you up, and leave your ears sore the next morning. All of these issues get worse as they get older. Plus, all types of foam tend to deform and bloat in size really easily if you reuse them long enough, which makes foam earplugs very uncomfortable if it is a firm type of foam. Sleeping earplugs have NONE of these problems. The foam stays soft, even when it gets well-worn and bloated. There is almost no crinkling at all. Firm earplugs will crinkle for a very long time (10+ minutes) after compression. This is because the firmness makes them take a long time to regain shape. These soft ones regain shape almost instantly, and I only hear crinkling for 15-30 seconds after significant compression. Although these block slightly less noise than shooting-grade ones, it is worth it to avoid all the problems that super-firm, shooting-grade earplugs can cause. As you would expect from 3M, the foam also seems very high-quality and hasn't had flaking issues like I had with some other brands. These are perfect to wear for long periods of time. I can easily wear them for 10+ hours without feeling any discomfort.

I purchased these last minute for a concert I was going to. I am so glad I did. I found the sound quality was still so great wearing these through the concert and they saved my ears from ringing afterwards. They are really comfy to use and easy to pop in. I would definitely purchase again for any loud event to save my hearing!

I've been a light sleeper for most of my life, and have used these 3M earplugs over the last 5 years to help improve my quality of sleep. Overall, they do an excellent job of reducing noise levels while still providing a soft and comfortable fit that doesn't leave you waking up with sore ears. My only reason for not giving it 5 stars is because of the quality control variances in the earplugs. Some of the earplugs in the bag are slightly smaller than the rest, and others don't have foam that bounces back into its original shape quite as well. The end result is that the first two earplugs that I grab out of the bag may not provide the correct fit for sleeping and have to be thrown out while I search the bag for the ones that I'm looking for.

These are great and I continue to use them regularly. My only complaint (not enough to demote it to four stars) is that a decent amount (10+ per bag) are low quality. They are either deformed or not nearly as firm as they should be and they ultimately don't seal well.

The best sleep earplugs you can get. They really quite things out.

Such a comfortable fit and definitely sealed my ear canal and protected me from the loud noises. Was easily removal as well! Definitely will buy again.

I am using these ear plugs for sleeping as there's a neighbour doing heaving renovations works. My work starts around 9pm Eastern Time as the n New York Stock market opens at 10pm ET. Henceforth these ear plugs were used. For comfort, they are soft and easy to place in the ears. But, this size is suitable for normal sized ear canals. I used honeywell 303s for my other smaller ear canal and both are soft and comfy to wear for the entire night. No worries about pain in the ears or side effects. But they could block out the annoying sounds from the construction site completely. Peace is restored and no more irritation from lack of sleep. Just ensure the correct fit is used, otherwise it's not going to be able to create a seal to block outside harmful noise pollution.
