My first impression is that it's well made, and came with hanging brackets that I didn't expect. I had a tan colored one that let too much sun through. This does a little better job but the weave is not as tight as the other one I was using, hence 4 stars. I had expected that even under a blazing sun, this would be like an umbrella, breathable but blocking the direct light from the sun, but it doesn't.I upped the rating one star, because I decided that it's a trade-off between blocking 100% of direct sun rays and the rest of advantages...Since the weave is not as coarse, it gives me a sense of more openness since I can see the sky, trees, etc when looking up. Also, when it rains the water goes through it quickly (so you can't stand under it during rain), and with a passing shower (like we've been having lots of this summer) I can go out shortly thereafter without sitting under a heavy water-filled shade.One other advantage is heat isn't trapped under it. Try sitting under a tarp to see what I'm saying... So, if you'll place this shade only a couple feet over your head, then this is good. Otherwise it doesn't matter. Mine is positioned about 9' high.

I received the square 10x10 sail on May 8th. I put it up within a couple of days of delivery. As of today, the sail has been up and exposed to heavy rain and sun for approximately 18 days.The sail is a described except that it's not 10'x10' when measured shortly after taken out of its package. All sides measured at 9' 10" except one was slightly longer. As shown in the pics, it's not a true square. But I expected it to be so. The area that I wanted to cover is not 10' exactly but when adding the drop angle from the the two higher points of attachment, that's what I needed.As some reviews state, the sail comes out of the packaging with creases and wrinkles. In my case, the weather took care of that. I don't know if other reviewers waited until the material was exposed to the elements to make a final review.I did not use the rope to attach any of the four corners so I can't tell you how durable is the rope. I used galvanized shackles, brick wall anchors, and eye hooks. All in all the hardware cost was around 15.So far, it's everything I needed... With one exception. The material stretches to the point where it starts sagging a bit. Perhaps that is why it is described as a 10x10 and the manufacturer knows that the material will stretch from 9' 10" to a final 10'. I would have to measure it again and read other reviews to see if other buyers have experienced the same.I imagine that at some point the sail will stop stretching. This is something important to take into account based on the area that you want to cover from the sun.As a final note, I'd say that turnbuckle s (as shown in the listing's pics) will give you that adjustability to take the slack off.

Absolutely love these. I ordered one a few months ago to provide over my horse. Ended up ordering 3 more to put over the pigs, goats and back yard for the dogs when they are outside.Surprisingly they survived the last 2 nasty storms we've had here in AZ. One of which snapped 3 of my trees and pushed my travel trailer about 5 feet back and twisted one end sideways.The two ends did come off the hooks which means I probably didn't have them tight enough.I would absolutely buy more.

I waited months to write a review to see if it was going to hold up and not ravel or sag. It still looks new, no sag, no raveling so it is everything I wanted. It keeps the bright sunlight off which allows me to use my deck finally. The grommets are strong and haven't shown any sign of wear which I was expecting since we have had winds all day in the 20-30 mph range during summer storms. I am very happy with my purchase - I made the right choice!

Love this shade I bought five of these and three triangles I am amazed at the difference in the coolness of our home...we live in the desert and we use this over our pool and patio and wow its amazing the difference it makes...will buy again!

Great material. We ordered the 12x16. Makes a huge difference to our patio. We do take it down when not in use. We have been having a lot of storms this week and not taking a chance on damaging it. My husband made the mistake of concreting posts in before the item arrived and is not pulled tight as recommended. So we are making adjustments. If we cannot get it the way we want I will order a smaller size to get the look we want with having it pulled tight. We have it rolled up and hooked up against the house and the shade covers our kitchen window a little. Definitely blocks the sun out. Kitchen is darker than normal and a lot cooler. Our kitchen is always hot. So this helped out in two ways. Heavy material and better than I expected. Great value.
