UPDATE: I’m happy to finally see the seller updated the photos to this listing with actual photos of the item. This listing previously had inaccurate photos that did not match the actual item. Smart move!I was looking for a decorative piece to place atop my wooden suitcase decor. I came across a photo of a magnifying glass I saw online and was on the hunt for it, as I loved the antique look of it. The photo of the magnifying glass had a “Henry Hughes” inscription around the frame of the lens, which is what actually made me love the piece. Searching online, I found it listed on multiple websites, but all were too expensive for me. So when I saw this same photo listed at $14, I posted the question on Amazon whether the actual item they were selling was exactly as shown in their photo with the “ Henry Hughes” inscription, and 2 people responded that it indeed had that inscription. With 2 people confirming this, I decided to order it. I got it today, and as you can see in my photos, it has NO inscription. So disappointing, but nevertheless, it’s still cute, captures the vintage look I was looking for, and more importantly, it was cheap. It’s functional and has a substantial weight to it. I just wished I was provided accurate/honest information. So I decided to keep it. However, so as not to mislead buyers, the seller should replace the current photo of his listing with an actual photo of his non-inscribed magnifying glass.

The design is timeless and appears that durability will last for years. I wasn’t a big fan initially on how the handle felt as it’s not smooth. However love the design and quality. My husband even did the sun test to 🔥....it worked.

The design is wonderful, nice quality glass that magnifies beautifully for my purposes. The size is very nice for my small hands, not too heavy, yet large enough for men to use easily. The joinings are well done, seems to be very good quality for the money

Beautiful magnifying glass. Balanced weight with comfortable, polished mother of pearl handle. The wide (4") magnifying glass makes reading small print in a newspaper, journal, or book enjoyable. Tasteful accent for the well-appointed desk or side table. Would make a lovely gift. The price is appropriate.

Wish it was coated in copper

This is NOT a magnifying glass. For some reason, this has a prescription lens! Does not magnify the object, and it is hurtful to the eyes. Returned it. Also, not the best craftsmanship. :(

Not happy with this purchase but I should have been more careful. It really doesn’t magnify well. More like 2x.
