Douwe Egberts Aroma Rood Decaf Coffee, 17.6 Ounce

We had this coffee in a German restaurant in Milwaukee. The flavor is totally amazing. I hate the bitter chicory taste of Starbucks type coffee. This coffee is smooth and mellow. I have bought the decaf and the other caffeinated ones, all delicious. Crazy as it sounds, it tastes even better after it gets cold. It is a bit pricey but a great cup of coffee to me in the morning is really important to me. Refuse to buy any other now and Amazon is the best place to buy.

This coffee, along with probably most others, tastes best when made in a percolator rather than an automatic drip machine. We tried it some time ago, when we had our drip, and it was unremarkable, and we would have agreed with another reviewer here that it was watery. I think a lot of decent coffees are watery in a drip machine, it's the nature of the beast. We just gave it another shot, and it is SO much better in the percolator. We are quite enamored with it now. I hate my coffee black, and I actually downed a whole cup of it black and never felt the need to add a thing. A true good cup of coffee experience without the jitters.

Best coffee ever. I had it in a restaurant and asked the waiter to write down the name for me. It is all I drink now. The aroma is wonderful, the taste wonderful. This is what I treat myself to instead of a famous coffeehouse's coffee that is not nearly as good.

OMG! All you people who avoid that awful burnt coffee taste.... which has been made so popular these days by a chain (who shall remain nameless)...this is the brand to buy. No wonder you must have flavor shots, sugar and milk to even get it down! A local restaurant here in Sedona, AZ, Cucina Rustica, served this coffee to me after a sumptuous dinner one evening and I practically had to sleep with the waiter to get him to go back in the kitchen and tell me what brand of coffee they use. I buy the caffeinated and decaf and switch off. BOTH taste marvelously mellow and mild. (good kick for morning: light roast means more caffeine, actually, I'm told...) You can sometimes get a bargain on it, but it is worth every single penny either way. I freeze it if I buy it in larger quantities, and then keep it refrigerated as I use it to stay fresh.This is the only coffee I will buy now. (Those sneaky Netherlanders, keeping the good stuff for themselves!)

Been drinking this coffee for years. It is very flavorful and smooth. I would highly recommend it. It is one of the most popular coffees in Europe.

I absolutely love the regular (non-decaf) version of this coffee when I occasionally run across it. Very rare to find it anywhere where I live but one gas station I go to has it. But I have to drink decaf most times. I like most decaf versions of various coffee brands but I was disappointed in Douwe Egberts Decaf. I was so hopeful this would be good tasting but it's just not.

I first had this coffee several years ago in a restaurant, and ended up liking it so much I asked the waitress what brand it was, and immediately had to come home and order it for myself. I can't have too much caffeine so I drink decaf coffee, and I'm really impressed with this brand's flavor and I don't feel like I'm missing anything without the caffeine. It's got a nice smooth, roasty, warm flavor without being the least bit bitter. Good with or without cream.
