After the first time or second time I used this candle, even though I don't think I touched the wicks at all and put it out by just covering the top of the holder with something heatproof to deprive the flame of air, but I still had to bore new holes and put new wicks in to get any of this to light again.That said, the vapors seem more pleasant than the cheap, unscented tea candles I'm used to, which is to say they're not really noticeable and they provide some light and heat when I'm smoking outside on a rainy cold day.I've seen mosquitos and other bugs frozen in the wax of this thing like bugs in amber, so if it's supposed to ward insects away with the citronella scent, well no it doesn't do that, and I haven't noticed any less beetles or bees or anything else coming to say hello while I'm outside 2 feet away from this thing and probably concentrating way too much of the vapors since I've got a huge tarp above me to keep the rain away.

I really love this candle! It smells so good, enough so that I would actually burn this inside. It also looks like it is going to last a really long time, as I’ve had this burn for a total of ten hours and it barely made a dent in the amount of wax remaining. The scent is pretty strong and I think it does a decent job of keeping the bugs away. I see these are now out of stock. I wanted to order more to give as hostess gifts so I hope they get more soon. This would make the perfect gift for any summer BBQs you might be attending. I only wish they made smaller votive sizes so you could spread them out on tables. Having multiple smaller candles spread out would likely increase their effectiveness as a bug repellent.

Personally I love candles and always want one with a lasting scent....otherwise why buy it. I can tell you this one is really good. The 3 wicks burn nice and even and the scent lasts. Perfect addition to my patio and will come back for more once this one has burned out.

This candle works well for intentions of keeping away mosquitoes, at least that is what I bought it for. I use it indoors and have had it for a couple days. I have not had much issue with mosquitos since using this candle. I'm not a big fan of citronella scent but this candle actually feels quite tolerable. At this point I do plan on ordering again. I am quite satisfied and it comes beautifully boxed and what seems of quality. Pleased with this purchase for sure!

As I kid I remember thinking citronella candles smelled AWFUL but this candle is WONDERFUL! Has a cold throw you can just smell on the patio when it’s not lit.I put mine inside a lantern to keep the wind off and we really enjoy it!
