An absolutely excellent chess board and pieces. It is considerably larger and more impressive than I expected it to be. This is a board that is not stained different colours, but made using marquetry. The chess pieces are weighted and look good. I now intend to embark on humiliating my long suffering wife by teaching her to play chess :-) (and hopefully beating her at it for a while). The pieces are snugly stored within the case in felt apertures. However, it looks so nice that we will probably keep it on display. Hopefully we won't have any visitors who are competent at chess in the near future.

Over the years I have bought a number of chess sets (too many, probably) but in terms of value for money this set is streets ahead of the others. The men are well finished and the board (which doubles as storage for the men) is faultlessly finished. The storage area ismade from some form of plastic with the shapes of the men replicated, the plastic is then coated in some form of green velour - it works.I wish I played chess as well as this set is manufactured! Very good value for money.

The product arrived very quickly and I was impressed by the service overall. However, as this item was a gift I did not see the poor quality until it had been opened by the recipient! The board is poor quality, lighter than I expected and some of the pieces were very poorly carved. The finish of the board and it’s pieces is not what I was expecting, this is a poor quality item and I was embarrassed to give it as a gift. Not worth the money paid. Very disappointed.

This chess board has exceeded my expectation. High quality board with high quality pieces. If you are a chess lover, this board is fantastic for the price. Can hardly see the line in the middle either for it being a folded board. The only tiny thing if I was being extremely picky is that there are no spare Queen pieces but that's about it. Still a solid 5 stars from me.

As I've said in a previous review , I'm not really a fan of folding chessboards. As far as I'm concerned you can always see the join. This one is not too bad though. Perhaps I'm just being picky. It's a good size and the weighted pieces are a nice attempt at Staunton that make a satisfying 'donk' noise when you make that brilliant move - or a terrible one. All in all pretty good value for the money.

For the price it’s nice and good size and quality, the inner green pice is a nit low end and green deposits come of for the first few time. Great board and speedy service but would of liked to of seem better finished parts for the price I paid. Also a storage/sleeve bag for the folded board woul be a great idea if your moving round playing with others, as your left with a cardboard box.

Design is very classic like my grandfather's chess set i really like it😊 Quality of chessboard (which is gargantuan😱) and pawns itself are very gooood. However you can replace inserts with something more classy to the chessboard like this. Theese are plastic ones 😖
