After 22 years of great sound, the speaker in my 10 inch Kenwood subwoofer finally "gave up its ghost." The foam around the cone dried out. I went online and searched for a good replacement. I went to my old "go to" source - Parts Direct web site, since it had good reviews and specs for many types of speakers. I came across the Goldwood. It had a treated cone and a rubber ring, which is better in both longevity and sound (better damping). Also it was a perfect fit for the Kenwood cabinet both in diameter and number of mounting holes - 8. The only thing I did not like was the gold screw connectors (Why I only gave it 4 stars instead of 5 stars). However, I pulled out my soldering iron and attached the wires to the speaker connectors. The sound it fantastic! It THUMPS great now with low frequency sound waves. Would highly recommend this speaker for either a sub woofer or a replacement speaker.

This speaker replaced my OEM speaker from a KLH powered sub unit. After putting this speaker in the box, the bass is louder than I remember it being with the original speaker. But, that may be because the old speaker has been slowly deteriorating over the years and I am used to hearing the worn-out speaker. Either way, this new speaker sounds great. For my unit, I had to make the speaker hole a tad bit larger using a small drum sander on a dremel tool since the cage on this speaker is a tiny bit bigger than the one that I took out. All in all a good buy.

This sub was a drop-in fit in a Polk Audio PSW10 enclosure, even the mounting holes lined up perfectly.The original driver would rattle so I replaced it with this driver. No more rattle, although I now believe the problem was with Polk’s plastic trim ring.

Very large 40 oz magnet, looks very well constructed. works well as a replacment driver for Onkyo S5300. Used in bass reflex box sounds great just not as good with low volume.
