Honest comparison of 4 brands of super high quality athletic socks
These are simply awesome socks. I bought the following 4 kinds of socks all at the same time to test them for myself: 1) adidas Men's Climalite II Low Cut Sock (2-Pair), White/Cobalt/Aluminum 2/Aluminum 2 Marl, Size 6-12 2) Wrightsock Men's Fuel Lo Single Pair Socks, White/Grey, X-Large 3) Fox River Wick Dry Triathlon Quarter 1/4 Crew Sock (White, X-Large) 4) Thorlo Unisex Running Mini-Crew Sock, White / Navy, Large They are all nice socks...every pair is of course of higher quality than those multi-pack "bargain" socks that most everyone buys. But, out of these 4 types, there are certainly differences. Again, I want to emphasize that all of them are comfortable and much, much more durable than any value pack socks. But, the adidas and Wrightsock brands seem to have lost a little of their luster after being worn for 1 year plus. Both brands are now just a tad bit tight, and a little bit hard to get on. (I do feel like though that the adidas socks are holding up better than the Wrightsock socks.) As for the Fox River and Thorlo brands....WOW! Both have held up incredibly well. Both brands really look like they did when I first opened them over a year ago. They are both still basically as comfortable as they were on the day I opened them. I am getting ready to order socks again, and I know I won't go wrong with any of these 4 brands, but I will be going with either the Fox River or the Thorlo socks. All 4 of these socks are considered to be quality athletic socks. But, I personally use them only as "everyday" socks (because I am too lazy to be too athletic these days.) Maybe the different brands would hold up slightly different under very active, athletic conditions. I still personally believe though that the Fox River and Thorlo socks would still stand out as the best. Because fellow sock buyers are forcing me to rank them (ha), I would go with: #1 Fox River, #2 Thorlo, #3 adidas and #4 Wrightsock. But don't forget (as I've said probably 5 times by now), all 4 brands are very nice socks and I believe you will be pleased with any and all of them. [But, if you HAVE to choose just one brand or someone will chop your feet off, my final vote just has to go with the Fox River socks.]

Half Marathon Compliant!
Trained & competed in a half marathon using Thorlos after FitSocks and other in-vogue "thin" running socks resulted in blisters & hotspots. Comfortable, padded and blister-preventing. I do recommend wearing these when getting fitted for shoes- they're thicker than standard socks, and may (depending on your foot) require you to go either a half-size up or to a different width (e.g. from a "regular" shoe to an EE). These have a LOT of padding, so they may require some adjustments on your part. Worth EVERY PENNY, though. I just did 13.1 miles on an extremely hill-heavy course and came out without a single blister or hotspot. They also wick the moisture away from your feet, so they're everything you could want in an exercise sock. Highly recommend these for anyone doing distance events, who is an average or large-frame runner/walker, or who is breaking into either new shoes or a new start on distances. Last point: WASH & DRY THESE ACCORDING TO THE INSTRUCTIONS ON THE PACKAGE. If you don't, you'll wreck the socks and have blown $12-15 for nothing. The washing instructions preserve the socks' ability to help your feet- following them is absolutely worth the effort!!!

Great Socks!!!
These socks are great and are highly recommended. Here's my story: Ok, so my "priced way too high logo-featured" nike socks I bought from Dick's Sporting Goods left me with painful blisters after beginning a walking routine. After walking 4 miles each day in the Nike socks, my feet felt raw, blistered, and unprotected. Not good. I discovered Thorlo socks after conducting a little research and reading many reviews. The best reviews raved about Thorlos performance and comfort. The worst reviews lamented durability, form retention (top of socks drooping), and price. I found the best reviews to be spot on. The socks are super padded and entirely eliminated the discomfort in my feet when walking. I was able to comfortably increase my distance from 4 to 8 miles while wearing Thorlo socks. I am extremely pleased with both performance and comfort. I cannot yet comment on durability since I have not had the socks long enough to assess whether there is premature wear. I bought 5 pairs and rotate them, so hopefully it will be awhile before I experience significant wear in the socks, such as holes or unraveling. As far as drooping tops go, I line dry my socks and do not put them in the dryer, so I hope to forestall if not eliminate this issue altogether. Bottom line. These are the most comfortable socks I have ever owned for walking/running. Buy with confidence.

Great for everyday comfort, not hiking
Nice and thick which provides great comfort. Unfortunately, at the price I would expect them to last longer, therefore they lost a star on quality. They are breathable and help eliminate moisture. They’re great for everyday, but will wear out quickly, if using them for hiking.
