Loved it!
Read reviews and wasn't sure to be honest, but my budget is limited so I thought I'd give it a try. Very easy and self explanatory, if you have done "in the hoop" type of embroidery. I wrapped self adhesive tear away stabilizer around the hat holder, sticky side up on front. Used painters tape to secure the stabilizer on the back of hat holder and the inserted into my hoop and secured it. Positioned and secured the brim of hat and then smoothed the embroidery area over the self adhesive and double secured with pins. By 4th hat only took maybe 5 minutes to prepare hat for embroidery. Very pleased with this purchase as it had a very low learning curve.

Doesn't fit Brother hoop
As everyone else said it comes wrapped in Saran wrap and no directions. The reason there's no directions is because it can't be used. It is an oval shape and Brother hoops are a rounded off square. The cost is way to much for a piece of metal with two wing nuts but I was desperate for something to make embroidering a hat easier.

Wasnt the size I needed
I bought but wasn’t the size that was needed to machine. The description was the best. It was very durable.

does not work with Standard Brother 5x7 hoop, but follow directions below and it works ok
Caution, does not work with the standard brother hoop so order one from amazon to use.I then epoxied the two together . This extra hoop should come standard with this hat hoop!To get it to work well, here is what I did.1) purchased a 5x7 hoop from Amazon and epoxied the two together, discarding the one insert ring2.) removed the 3 nylon spacers which held the hat bracket up off the hoop. This allows for the foot to move over the hat and visor a little preventing a jam.3.) Removed part of the metal frame from the top and bottom area with a metal grinder. See Picture.4.) Set your machine to a 4x4 hoop size to limit its movement in the areas cut out.

Worked like a charm
I am so impressed with this device. I was told I couldn't embroider on a hat with my one needle machine, but I didn't take no for an answer. So glad I bought this gizmo!! And for the price!! Brand names are triple the cost. Why???
