These actually work great!
With a little texturizing product and with barely damp hair. These are super easy to use and have a great curl result that actually last! Very comfortable too!

Works okay
It leaves a dent in my hair where the band is tied so I usually have to strighten my roots which defeats the no heat purpose, but it does save time in the morning! Curls come out just like an iron

I want to cry, in a good way ðŸ˜
I literally am in shock and awe at the moment. I have pin-straight hair that's never been great about holding a curl. I've tried everything over the years: headband curls, rollers, braids, etc. None of it came out looking very good or lasted very long. I also never really learned to style my hair so I never got the hang of heated tools either, and anyways it's far too much damage for my fine hair. I was starting to think I would never achieve the beautiful curls that life has so cruelly denied me.After my latest disastrous attempt at using satin rollers (think Bozo the clown) I decided to give this a try, assuming that it wouldn't be any different than all my other failed attempts. But what's twenty more dollars and another tool tossed onto the failed hairstyle pyre?It took me over a month to get the motivation to try it on my collarbone length hair. I used second-day hair, first dampening it just a little and then adding a tiny bit of setting lotion. It did take me a little bit of getting used to (positioning it on my head was a little tricky, and I had to rewrap pretty much all the sections at least 2-3x haha) but honestly the wrapping part itself was so so easy, much easier than trying to coordinate my hands/brain to use rollers. I left it on overnight and while I can't say it was *comfortable* to sleep in, I was pretty tired so I zonked right out.I just took the curls out and I am literally like...in shock. At first they were a little tight and I started having Bozo flashbacks, but after smoothing them and combing them through with my fingers a little, and waiting a few minutes for them to loosen, they are so SO pretty. Much prettier than anything I've ever managed to achieve with any other method, heatless or otherwise.I am so glad I gave this product a shot and so pumped to continue using this! It automatically makes me look like I put in a ton of effort into styling my hair even though I really didn't. Try it, you might be pleasantly surprised!!

Awkward but Works Once You Get the Hang of It
This Octocurl headband is honestly one of the most awkward contraptions I’ve tried, but once you figure it out, it does create pretty curls—especially for short hair.I just wish the legs were adjustable or could slide around, which would make styling a lot easier and more comfortable. It’s not the most user-friendly, but it gets the job done if you’re patient!

Octocurl short hair
I have hair just above my shoulder and could consider that "short"... but this will not come close to working for me. You'll need hair well below your shoulder length to have a hope of making this work. Plus, the top of your hair will flat as a board. Eh. Then there is how to 'tie them up' at the end. Total nightmare. I cannot recommend this to anyone, but it seemed like worth a try. It is soft and in theory you might be able to sleep on it, but why? Having said all of this, I never hesitate to update my reviews should new info seem useful. All of my reviews reflect my honest, personal experience with the reviewed item - your experience may be different. I am not influenced by any outside source. I receive/accept NO free products or discounts that are not available to all shoppers- ever. For some reason our shopper ranks are no longer visible - so, to give you a little more info about me, I am a top 50 reviewer (#30 the highest rank achieved). Those numbers used to fluctuate over time - up and down but I noticed that they stopped updating regularly - perhaps to phase them out. It's a shame because it did help you see who has been around the longest and who is a trustworthy reviewer. I've been doing reviews for over 25 years with Amazon - over 6,000 reviews posted, those reviews have been viewed well over 50,000 times, including well over 24,000 likes. Bottom line, I pay for all my stuff, just like you do.
