Fermentaholics BIG MOMMA Kombucha SCOBY & Starter Tea - Live Starter Culture

Not to happy with the fact that they show pictures of ph strips however they did not sent any. Had to take a leap and hope it works because I couldn’t test it.

I make my own kombucha and have so many scobys already, but several people have said such good things about Fermentaholics that I just had to see for myself. I ordered this Big Momma scoby and the other scoby with starter. Both are so healthy and happy! Big Momma is pretty good size, but the other one wasn't much smaller, maybe 2" less in diameter. I was glad to get such a big one! I use Fermentaholics black tea blend (great tea). I put both new scobys in their (separate) jars and they're happy as can be. Both floated to the top right off (that doesn't actually matter but I like when they do). The pH was 3.5 right away (that's good), and there is plenty of starter with each scoby. The packaging is very nice, the back of each even lists each step for first time brewers. The shipping is fast (for every product I've ordered from them). The review asked to rate temp so I gave it a 3, which is honest. That being said, I live on a mountain (literally) in MT so it's clearly going to be cold in March. I was concerned about the scobys being too cold during shipping but they weren't affected. I let them come to room temp before brewing is all. I def recommend any product from these guys, and look forward to anything I order from them in the future!

Arrived really quickly, I bought this for the hubby, no idea if it is good BUT he is REALLY happy with it and has just told me it's done a poo! He has bought it a hotel and a heater and quite frankly has spent more time and his attention on it than he has on me 🤣 , brilliant product and fantastic service

My bag was bloated but the scoby came as described with lots of stringy growth attached, bonus. Big and well developed, mine has some holes but that’s fine. Could have had a little more starter tea. Directions on the back were clear and easy to understand. I have been fermenting my first gallon for seven days now. My scoby grew a whole baby! Hooray. My first ferment is completely delicious after 7 days and I am about to start the second on day 8/9 when I am able to bottle it up. I am so happy with this item. Any concern I had about quality is completely erased. I am beyond thrilled. I’m glad I spent the extra on a big, mature, healthy scoby.

Just received this a couple of days ago and made my first batch today. I will update my post as the process runs its course. The SCOBY is big as described, looks very healthy, smells nice and is about 1/4 inch thick. Would highly recommend.
