How well does this work on the curved edge of a countertop?

It can be challenging to go over curved edges, but once you get it tucked and folded right, it goes on good. Might i suggest using a heat gun, it really helps along the way.

Is this material durable? How long will it last?

The material is durable to a certain extent. You cant put anything too hot on it because it will melt the glue and cause it to detatch and it will go from smooth to bumpy thats the only down fall ... I personally got these wire shelve like things from the dollar tree and evenever i have anything hot i just place it ontop of that
