I can make you this promise, you will want to read this entire book and find out about Edie's name, Edith Graham, Edie's mother's story, and the box in the attic. I read this book in one day. Afterward, I researched many of the Native groups mentioned, as well as the locations in the Seattle Area. What a wonderful, fabulous book to inform readers of a sad period in our nation's history toward a group of people who withstood the saddest and most unfair circumstances. The author did a great job showing homage to this time frame and location. This is a fantastic piece of historical fiction that all should read. Well done.

Nice book for teenager

What a good story. Great to learn about other cultures.

I really enjoyed how it was a mystery all the way through the book, the ending was simply exquisite, highly recommend "I Can Make This Promise."

My 9y/o son loves it and me too!! We are descendents from a Native Tribe (not american). I was able to explain some of our heritages to him! It is a book that you can't simply stop reading!
