As many have said, this really is a terrific value as long as you don't start comparing the steel/carbon chemical make-up with others some may find unequal. That said, however, for non pro users such as myself, after 5 tries, I've found what I've found it to be just right in terms of overall performance, sharpness, weight and even ergonomics. One specific feature is the very slight curve at the top of the knife where it turns down towards the cutting tip. When cubing items such as quantities of poached chicken breasts, bread, or vegetables requiring a two handed rocking motion, the rounded top edge is very easy on your palm. Bottom line, in my opinion, it's been far better than even hoped for.

Its gorgeous to behold. The wood handle is very pretty and the blade is large for doing large amounts of prep. I am a chef and needed a good knife for large amounts of prep. This vegetable clever fit the bill. My only complaint is the slight favor on the left bevel which makes the knife slice to the right. Ive been working on it myself. Idk if this is apart of the design that forces the knife away from the user (being right handed it pushes the blade to the right, away from my 'claw hand'). Not sure if this is for safety but I like a straight cut myself.

These knives are great quality! I’ve purchased this brand multiple times. But this knife came in unsharpened.

The Kitory knife is light weight but heavy enough to cut though a head of cabbage with with ease. This knife is very well balanced and very sharp right out of the package.

This is one BAD ASS knife- Much much better than I though it would be..It Chops, Dices, Slices- Wont rust bust or collect dust (lol)But in all seriousness Its a super value- I absolutely love it.Shipped super fast.Full Tang I find excuses to use it

High carbon steel coating started coming off after first use on butternut squash and zuchini. I knew better than to buy a coated knife and it failed miseraby. So if you want to waste your time or buy someone a bad gift get this knife. Its a good thing returns are easy with amazon.

it does the job

Top of blade is not rounded off to dull the 90° angles. When you have to do alot of chopping leads to sore hand and blisters. Also found pitting in the metal near the handle. Back of metal tang on handle has fine burs. I had to take it to work to fix all these misses. But cuts well.

Knife came sharp from the PKG. Well balanced and we'll made. Just a little to thick and heavy bladewise for my taste but overall it's a good knife

the cleaver looks like it should give good service. I think its false to advertise that it comes with a case.
