If you like Star Wars, you will love this game!
I am not sure how much the dynamics of the game are different from the regular RISK game, as I haven't played that for a long time, and now I purchased the Star Wars version right away. Either if it is just a regular RISK with Star Wars design, or a completely different game, it worth every penny. It is amazing how you can replay the final attack against the Death Star. As the fight goes parallel in 3 different areas, just like in the movie, you really need to keep an eye on all of them at the same time. Also you need to have a totally different strategy by playing with Rebellion or the Empire, which makes fun to play the game over and over again. The only downside is that it is clearly a game for two, not for bigger groups (which can be an advantage as well, as it is also hard to find great board games suitable for two only). Also the quality of the figurines, ships, tokens etc. could be better, maybe plastic or tin instead of cardboard (especially capital ships). And rebel ships are a bit too big, 5 X-Wings are hard to place on the tiny docks in the beginning. But these minor things are not affecting the game experience.

A fantastic game. Not actually risk, but a much better faster game. Things I like; + The revelance of the game to film Return of the Jedi. + The game is not complex, but can be tactical and is good to play again and again. + The two teams play for different goals and different ways again adding to how many times you want to play it. + The board layout is unique and truely relevant to the game and the scenario/film. + You'll not find this game in other forms, as is not risk and fits the film exactly. + Its got aspects of bigger table top games in the simple rules, its like a simplified version of warhammer in the way you battle. The few things I disliked, - The box could be a third smaller and there would still be loads of space. - The box has flimsy thin cardboard divide and no small box to put the cards in. It comes with an empty plastic wallet I presumed was for the cards, but I cant fit the whole pack in to it. If they had used a plastic insert in the box like settlers of catan that also qould work... it's like they got some work experience kid to design the box. - The box has Kylo Ren on the front cover, this game has no connection to Kylo Ren or episode 7. - The mellenium falcon and executor are cardboard pictures on the board. It would of cost nothing to make small plastic versions of them similar the other ships. Besides those minor things, fantastic game, love it. Delivered fast. UPDATE: I have found out there is a 'Star Wars Black Series Risk' which fixes the above negatives in complete. However it is not for sale on Amazon.co.uk but only on the USA version of website (.com).

I got this as a gift and it was well received. It takes a lot of reading to understand the gameplay but once you got it, it's a nice strategy game for 2. I would suggest you use a timing device to not let the game run for hours because one can spend a lot of time preparing the strategies. Also, the first time you will probably do it all wrong as some parts of the game doesn't really affect one side or the other. The standard risk definitely offers way more strategizing, especially when played with 3+ persons, but this one is based on Star Wars :)
