The evaporator in my 2005 Prius is leaking. The price to fix it is $1614 because the whole dash has to come out. Will this stuff work on evaporators?

I can only tell you it worked a year for me in my 2008 Toyota Tundra. My friend tried it in his wife's jeep. And he said it did not work for him. But after a year I have put another can in my 2008 Tundra, and it is working again for me. Hoping it gives me atleast another year. Because I am in the same situation. They would have to take my dash out as well. I don't want to pay that price either.

Is there a way to purge the air from the hose before putting it in?

Yes but it may not help you. You could attach the coupler and then pull a vacuum on the whole system thru hi port but if you have leaks and you wouldnt be using this if you didnt you will gain nothing. You could place the coupler on the port and eject the air by flowing some of the pink sealing foam into the hose and then snap the coupler into place. could get messy. Dont worry about it and just use the product as directed. It works!

Do you use the whole can ?

I would say use the whole can. I have fixed A/C leaks on a 1997 Saturn and a 2004 Toyota Highlander 4 cyl. and used the whole can on both and my vehicles and it fixed the leak.

Can you add this after you have recharged the r34?

As long as there is sufficient capacity in your system. Don’t overcharge. This stopped a fairly large leak for my son.
