It looks like they are made in Virginia - USA. Besides the Balsam Fir I have found a new favorite smell - Pure Comfort. Everyone who smells it loves it. These candles have an aroma that permeates the entire house, like incense. They are wonderful and they will last until the final drop of wax is gone.

Does it smell like a fireplace burning wood?

It does not smell exactly like a fireplace burning wood, and that really disappointed me initially. However, I am still buying this candle because it really grew on me, with it's musky scent that is reminiscent of a fireplace.
