Will this tool work?** A: I know this is too late to help you, but this wedge works great on stairs. If you want to see it in action, you can go to any of the online video sites and search on Pivit Ladder Tool. You'll find a number of videos that demonstrate its use. **Q: will this work on concrete tiles?** A: I have never used it on concrete tiles. I would use some caution if doing so. The pivot grips very well to rough surfaces but could potentially slip on smooth surfaces like tiles just a like ladder could. **Q: The picture shows them used as ladder jacks how do they fit on a Werner ladder and are they very sturdy as ladder jacks?** A: They should fit fine on a werner ladder. They're really sturdy, I have never had one slip out once. But for safety precautions when placing on really steep roofs or hills you should reinforce the Pivit by putting a board or something behind it. **Q: What width walk board will this accommodate?** A: It depends which way you are using it. On a steep pitch (or steep stairs) it will accommodate a maximum 15" width board, but on a gentler pitch (or more ordinary stairs) it will take up to a 21" board. Then you run into something like this, buy it hoping that it is going to provide exactly what it claims and well look at that, it does!If you spend a lot of time working on homes (let it be at home, homes of family/friends, or professionally). You will want one of these. Given, if you are only working at home on projects once in a while, thus may not be the most affordable investment. However, we had a project here at the office which expanded to something we are going to do at a few of our homes. It was going to include LOT of stair situations with high roof points we need access to.This product is perfect for it. It really is built tough and seems to get the job done quite nicely. Just the reverse! It's very sturdy and well-made. The non-slip gripping surfaces work well, even on my slippery wood floor. It also holds the ladder feet well - I felt steady and balanced while on the ladder in my stairwell. The task was painting, especially edging where the wall and ceiling meet. I was able to concentrate on my painting while using the pivit tool and my 20-foot ladder. When I started, my husband stood next to the ladder in case it started slipping. After 5 minutes, we realized that I could carefully go up and down rungs and shift the paint can from one hand to the other...in other, normal movements one would need to make...without having any issues. After that, I felt confident not having a spotter. Obviously, you wouldn't want to jump up and down or try some of the Cirque du Soleil acts on the ladder unless you are a certified professional...but for your everyday person, this is an extremely handy tool.
