🧊 Chill with Friends: Unravel Mysteries in the Omens of Ice!
The Elder Sign Omens of Ice expansion enhances the cooperative dice game experience with a rich Alaskan theme, introducing new challenges, characters, and gameplay mechanics. Designed for 1-8 players aged 14 and up, this expansion offers an average playtime of 1-2 hours, making it perfect for game nights filled with strategy and suspense.

The most difficult expansion
This expansion for those who is already experienced with the base game and Unseen forces and Arkham expansion. Here you have to control storm tokens' effects, season's effect and etc. It is quite challenging because while collecting Elder Signs, you must control the time. If you are on the 8th day - you lost (winter mode). And Ancients are able only from this expansion. And they are quite difficult. But the atmosphere and story (yes, it has a simple storytelling) are amazing!!! Especially if you play in winter. You must understand that chanses to win here are very low.. Mostly the game for atmosphere and experience and not for win.

Soooo Much Fun
OMG...I love Elder Sign! Is it swingy and partially luck driven due to depending on dice? Yeah...it is, but doesn't almost all board games rely on getting a good die roll, or drawing the right card at the right time? This game, as a whole has a ton to offer with endless replayability. This is an expansion, you must have the core game in order to play. Our investigators find themselves out in the cold, in Alaska, looking for a missing archeological expedition, facing snow, ice, and arctic temperatures. Sudden storms, in the form of storm markers. Complicate the rescue mission and could result in death for everyone. All of the expansions for Elder sign are unique and a ton of fun. Some harder than others, some more enjoyable (depending on how much you dig the theme), but they all offer a rich adventure and hours of fun. I have only played this game in solo mode and control 2-3 investigators. Great game!

Great mechanics and the art and lore give it a great flavor, but man is it tough. Make sure you don't play this with an inexperienced group.

Excellent Expansion
Excellent addition to the Elder Sign core game. Omens adds many new Adventure, monster, Other World, Ancient One and investigator cards. The new game play brings a welcome twist to the original with weather and supplies that will add new difficulty to your adventures in Alaska. The artwork and writing are top notch, continuing the tradition of the other games in the Arkham Horror line.Highly recommended to anyone who is a fan of the original Elder Signs and the two previous expansions.

I love this game
I love this game. I own it all. I even bought Eldritch Horror because I liked Elder Sign so much. Elder Sign is better simpler and plays faster. This series is the go to for all our board game nights, plus it's up to 8 players and the turns don't take forever. - can't say enough about the Elder Sign series. Get it, play it, love it - your welcome.

A decent expansion, but not quite as good as the first two
I'm a huge fan of Elder Sign and its first two expansions. Unseen Forces expanded all of the decks and ratcheted up the game's difficulty. Gates of Arkham added an awesome new adventure deck and brought quite a few new game mechanics. By comparison to those two great expansions, Omens of Ice feels a little weak in terms of new content, but it is by no means bad.The best thing about Omens of Ice is its theme. The whole snowy, cold wilderness theme really comes through in both the new adventure deck and the new mechanics. This is basically Mountains of Madness: Elder Sign Edition, even if the action is set in Alaska rather than Antarctica. The new adventure cards have some great, creepy artwork and you really feel like you're fighting for your life in an unforgiving tundra, even if all you're doing is basically rolling dice. There's basically three new mechanics in this set. The first is that the adventure deck is split into two stages: The first stage represents your party arriving at Anchorage and setting out on your expedition, and the second, more difficult stage represents your party surviving in the wilderness and encountering all sorts of ancient evils. You progress through these stages by completing four special adventure cards. I really like this new mechanic because it lets the players as a party determine how quickly they want to advance through the game. Do you stay in town and gather supplies for a while to ensure that you're adequately prepared for the wilderness, or do you rush right out into the tundra to confront the ancient one?The second new mechanic are storms that will appear on adventure cards as the game progresses. In terms of gameplay, these are basically just new tokens that give you a bunch of negative effects when you enter a new adventure. This is kind of a minor mechanic, but it does help reinforce the arctic theme and it makes makes the game more difficult. The third mechanic simply adds supplies to the game, which dwindle or increase as your party completes adventures and spends more time in the wilderness. Again, it's a relatively minor mechanic, but it does feel pretty thematic.Overall, I like the new mechanics but they feel very minor compared to the new mechanics introduced in Gates of Arkham, which added a ton of new choices and gameplay features. This lack of meaningful new mechanics is perhaps the biggest drawback to this set.The other big negative to this expansion is that you can only use the three included ancient ones when playing with the Alaskan adventure deck. Similarly, the new ancient ones cannot be used with the older adventure decks. This is a pretty big disappointment for me because when I buy one of these expansions, I expect to be able to use the new ancient ones with any set, not just the set they come with. The eight new investigators, thankfully, can be used with any adventure deck. They are eight characters who should be familiar to anyone who has played any other FFG Arkham game though they do have new artwork which is nice.Overall, I'd recommend this expansion only to seasoned fans of Elder Sign who already own Unseen Forces and Gates of Arkham and who are craving a new experience. If you're a newer Elder Sign fan who doesn't yet own one of those other two expansions, buy one of those instead.

but by no means easy.
The base games was so-so, the Gates of Arkham expansion took it to a new level and now Omens of Ice has put on the final bit of polish.Very enjoyable. Not as random and (at times) completely unfair as Gates of Arkham, but by no means easy.

Fans of the base game would love the improvements and variety
Builds on the previous Gates of Arkham expansion that adds more danger and difficulty to the location cards so players have to choose where to risk sending their investigators moreso than the base game. Also tiers the difficulty of the scenario and limits the overall game time by having an in game timer to work against.

Good transaction and challenging game!
The transaction went fine: the item arrived rapidly, with a solid packaging and in good conditions. The game is really challenging and adds to the origina Elder Sign game a new mechanic that modifies the gameplay adding variety. Suggested!

Helps expand the Eldersign universe and add another level to the game!
Bought this expansion pack as a gift for my brother. It's brilliant, lots of extra cards to play with to help expand and prolong the game. The original game is brilliant, but this really adds to it. New cards add new rules and complexity to the game. Definitely recommend!
