Q: how high are these? I need them passed the calf below the knee.

on my husband they were to the knee, but if you have any calf at all they will be a little shorter. He has no calves

Q: what are they made of? wool? cotton? blend?

I am not sure it is a blend for sure because they hold their shape and wick so well. Pure cotton does not do either. I would think at this price it's a cotton and synthetic blend.

Q: It only states Large for the size - what shoe size / range does that include?

I would say size 10-12 like typical large sock size. I wear size 10 and they fix perfect. Hope that helps.

Q: Would these fit a 13.5 shoe size?

i wear a size 13 with wide feet and they fit perfect
