What notes are the chimes tuned to? Is it a major chord?

Good question! And I have the answer. Unpredictably, it's a GM7 chord - G Major 7th, which means it has a F# (Gb) in it. From top to bottom: G, B, D, F#, G. So if you want to hear just the major chord, strike the bottom three notes. A Major 7th is an interesting, pretty chord though, so it sounds great to sweep over all the bars. For meditation, it's nice to hit just one note - The lower three have an especially long sustain.

Can i hear the sound?

Yes. The more force you use with the mallet, the louder the sound. The chimes have a beautiful tone.

Try adjusting the string placement on the bar that is out of tune. Sometimes moving it a touch will get in back in tune. The end of the bar should be the same distance from each string. Pushing it closer to the edge of the bar will make it looser and pushing the strings closer to the center of the bar with make it tighter and help it resonate.
