Great to start out!
Edit- I've since washes the fabric and it is much softer now, but still too stiff for my needs. It's clearly best suited to cross-stitch style workArrived with everything it was supposed to (+two doubles of some of the red floss. hope no one else got shorted). The floss is soft and the variety is lovely, lots of bright colors but also a selection of neutrals. I'll have to pick up more purples though, as there are only six shades. My only complaint is how horrible the fabric is. It's very stiff and rough and feels like it might shred floss. I'll wash it to see if it's just been over starched. Even if that's not the case fabric is easy and inexpensive enough to get. I removed a star for that though, since it does mean I have to do more before I can begin any projects.I had no issue with the protective blue plastic that others had, it came off cleanly for me.

Great for beginners
After reading some of the reviews, I was a bit hesitant, but for the price I couldn't pass it up. I'm glad I went for it. There's a nice variety of threads, and though they're not a brand name, I don't cross-stitch patterns that are very strict on color selection, so I don't mind. The Aida cloth is rather stiff as some other commenters have said, but it relaxes with either washing or working with it. The thread is not extremely durable, as I've already had one get shredded by the cloth in the middle of my first project, but overall for the price you can't really complain. I just snipped that one thread and continued on, and it's been fine since. Maybe on my next project I'll wash the Aida beforehand so it's not stiff enough to scrape the thread. The "scissors" are more thread-nippers than anything. You have to squeeze them at the right angle to get a decent cut, but they serve alright and are nicely portable. The issue isn't with the sharpness, but with the tension between the blades. The holes on the needles are plenty large enough to fit the thread through without the included needle threaders, but I have very steady hands so I'm sure the threaders are a nice addition for those with trouble getting it through. There's no problems with the hoops in my kit either, they're smooth and not the highest quality but perfectly serviceable. One complaint I keep seeing that isn't really an issue - the needles that come with this are dull because they're specifically designed for use with the included cloth. The dull point helps to prevent accidentally sticking yourself over and over again while still being sharp enough to get through the open holes in the weave, and it allows you to run the needle tip over the back of the cloth to find the holes without looking. If you're going to be embroidering on fabric with a tighter weave, you WILL need to buy sharper needles separately, but it's not a design flaw. These are specifically cross-stitching needles for use with Aida cloth.I still don't know what the little metal pieces with hooks at the end are... If you know, can you reply?

Worth the Cost, a Good Starter
This product has everything a beginner will need to start their first project. The cons of this bundle is that the hoops themselves are somewhat splintering and it is difficult to get the fabric to properly set in them. I also would have liked longer needles and more thread holders because of the large number of different colors. That being said, the thread that is included is amazing and has a perfect variety of colors. The 'clippers' work very well. I like how this set was packaged, it makes it easy to clean up since there are just the right amount of separate baggies to hold all the different parts. I have kept the original packaging and just carry it around by sliding the bag into my tote bag. Because the hoops feel cheap and hard to use, I would not buy this for a gift for someone, however if this is a personal buy, I highly recommend it.

Okay
I like all the stuff it comes with. Good for beginners, as I am. When I was shopping around, the wooden circles and needles were about the price for the whole kit. That's why I bought it.I like all of the supplies, aida seems okay. Not amazing. String seems to not be as nice. Bunches up and knots a lot easier than other brands I have used for other things. Comes with a lot of pinks, reds, and blues. Not many greens or grays.I would give the string a 2 star rating. Everything else would probably get 5. Met in the middle.

Just like the photo!
I’m very new to cross stitching and this kit was exactly as it is in the pictures, no gimmicks! It even came with more sheets of aida cloth than listed (which was awesome). All of the colors were beautiful from mattes to Metallics, as well as everything else listed being in great new condition. Definitely worth the buy, especially at such a great price!
