Would this work in the yeti roadie 20?

Yes, they will work with any size cooler. The light does not require mounting. You literally turn it on and throw it in your cooler. Doesn't matter where it goes in the cooler, although, I think it looks best when it is buried in the ice illuminating the drinks above it.

Does the light automatically shut off after awhile or is mine defective? When it shuts off, I just turn it back on for an hour or so. Then it shuts of

I haven't seen mine turn off, but 95% of the time the cooler lid is closed. Everytime I reach in for a cold beer the light has been on.

Is there anyway to change the color?

There is a button that can change it from flashing to red to just white.

How do you know when the battery is fully charged?

There is a small blue light that blinks indicating the battery level. When it blinks 4 times, it is fully charged. 1 blink, it needs to be charged.
